Ok I think I figured it out. The lower retainer plate is missing and the other was not even secured so I removed it and noticed there's some kind of rubber backing to it. Anyway, it's not looking good since these parts are not available anywhere :(

Update: I ordered new limit switches and the wiring harness. Considering the existing harness was just dangling outside the chassis I have no idea where to install the new limit switches. Any ideas?

Hi @mknauss thanks for the help. I removed the thumb screw, handle, and the 4 screws, and as soon as I started wiggling the cover to remove it the valve started working before I even had the cover off. Weird, huh? Anything I should look at while the cover is off?

Ok that makes sense. Will they need the rouond flange connector like in the link you provided? The reason I ask is because the motor>pump connector looks square-ish to me but that could just be my inexperience talking. Here's a better pic. Square or round?

Hi @ajw22 thanks for offering to help. Can you elaborate a little on your recommendation other than the obvious energy savings? Is the VS motor integrated into their current setup more simply than a 2 speed motor or do you recommend it for different reasons?
