    MasterTemp Unions

It looks like the actual Pentair unions will probably be my best bet. I was just hoping to avoid the proprietary fittings and paying the 'Pentair Tax'. But that's what it costs to play sometimes.

    MasterTemp Unions

So i have been battling a positive CSI all summer. I have high TA fill water and surprisingly stubborn PH that does not want to rise despite aeration. This makes controlling my CSI difficult and I did not have great success this summer. My SWG showed some signs of scale, so I wanted to...

    MasterTemp Unions

I was planning on doing this after I closed the pool for the season and had everything drained. I was going to run fresh water through it to flush out the descaling solution, but hen leave it dry until spring. Would that be OK, or should I wait until I open in the spring?

    MasterTemp Unions

I was planning on just using a gallon of vinegar as that is what was suggested for my tank-less water heaters. Would that be advisable?

    MasterTemp Unions

I will pick up some threaded 2" PVC fittings and give it a try. Even if it is not a perfect seal, as long as I can get the descaling solution to circulate, I'll be happy. I'll report back with my findings, but it may be a few days before I can get to it. Thanks for the help.

    MasterTemp Unions

So I need to by the unions (item 23)? Or can I unscrew the connector tube (item 14) and screw in a standard 2" NPT fitting? - Sorry, just saw your other reply. Thanks!

    MasterTemp Unions

So those are a standard 2" NTP? I thought those would be proprietary as well. I can make that work then without having to by the unions. Why should I remove the thermal regulator?

    MasterTemp Unions

I am trying to make some fittings so I can descale my Pentair MasterTemp heater. I was wondering if anyone knows if the nuts for the union are a proprietary thread (like the Pentair salt cells), or if they are a standard thread that I could pick up at Home Depot. If they are proprietary, are...

It is listed on our invoice as ‘Onyx Black’.

    Bobe Fire and Water bowls

Yes, we have a saltwater pool and they still look good after 7 years. I don’t recall them mentioning problems with saltwater when we installed it, just problems with the coating adhering to the copper. I’m guessing as long as the coating does not get compromise, they should be fine.

    Bobe Fire and Water bowls

We installed a Bobe water pot when we built our salt pool back in 2016. By the next year, the coating was flaking off. It was a copper pot with the power coating just on the lip and outside. Bobe originally wanted to replace it with a stainless steel one and said they had issues with the...

    Pentair Mastertemp 250 not starting

All the wiring looks good, and no signs of any critters. I'll get a new box on order. Thanks for the help!

    Pentair Mastertemp 250 not starting

The air flow switch was open. I could not focus on work, so I ran out and went through the troubleshooting from the manual. I was not getting voltage to the blower, so I went back to the ignition control module per their proceedure. When I jumped F1 and F2 together, the blower started up...

    Pentair Mastertemp 250 not starting

I am having issues with my Pentair Mastertemp 250. When I opened, it started up and ran just fine for a couple of days and then I shut it down. Air temps have been a little cold for swimming until recently, so I did not have it running until today. I noticed that it was not on and saw a...

    VOLT Garden Lighting

I use a smart switch inside my transformer box like you show. My only comment would be to make sure you get a good signal with the switch prior to committing to this set up (with the cabinet door closed) like you said. Remember, you are closing the switch inside a metal box with a transformer...

    pentair globrite led issue

I’ve seen lots of posts about failures of Globrites. Has anyone had any luck getting them replaced outside of the 3 year warranty? I have one that went out recently that is a couple years outside the 3 year warranty. Just wondering if Pentair is doing anything due to the high failure rate.

Info and Advice on Tankless Water Heaters

I just had 2 - Navien NPE-240A2 tankless heaters put in last week. I went through 2 Rheem 75gal tanks in under 6 years due to various problems. While I cannot comments on long term, I am very happy with them so far. I was right on the boarder line of the max capacity for one unit. My plumber...

    SLAM Help

Quick update. I resumed aeration this morning and checked FC, which is holding. PH is up to 7.4-7.5, so I added my first dose of CYA and continue to hold my FC in the 8-10 range. I'll keep this up until I can get my CYA up to 30, then run a normal SLAM. Water is already looking much better...

Thanks. I'll be sure to check my FC before I do the CYA. Headed out now to clean the filter.

    SLAM Help

So my PH is already back up to 7.2. My plan is to ride it out close to 10ppm CL through the night as it is supposed to storm, which should help my PH. I will keep the SWG running through the night which isn't enough for a SLAM, but will keep something in there until I can test in the AM. I'll...

    SLAM Help

I was afraid to add any CYA until my PH came up. I have 4lb now (getting more later). That should bring me up to 30, but it says it will drop my PH by another 0.5. That worried me and why I wanted to ask before I did anything else.

    SLAM Help

OK. So we were gone for a week and I figured no problem with the cover and SWG. However, when we got back, I see that my SWG was not producing (different story). When I opened the pool, the water was grey, so I put whatever liquid chlorine (roughly 3 gallons of 12.5%) I had in and got the SWG...

Dry acid - really that bad?

Just FYI-"Acid Magic" adds phosphates to your water (don't ask how I know). You typically do not have to worry about phosphates if you keep things balanced. Your small dosing and ability to change water will also help. Just something to be aware of.

    Salt cell air

I had a very similar problem with my cell over the past weekend after heavy rains. (Cloudy water from returns with SWG running). It has gotten better each day, but still seems cloudier than it has in the past. I have also been keeping my FC at about 3/4 SLAM level. It has been holding, but just...

Cloudy water from returns with SWG running.

Thanks, I wasn’t sure if that was the case or if there was something else. I have seen it when I first open in the spring, but I have never seen it this bad. I’ll keep a close eye on it for the next few days. Thanks again.

Cloudy water from returns with SWG running.

Hi. I recently left my cover open and used the rain storms we got to refill our pool, probably 2-3" worth. I bumped my chlorine up a bit (should have been around 14 according to math, but did not measure) anticipating some dilution and planned on adjusting my salt and CYA after it was filled...

Anyone have an opinion about Acid Magic?

My pool builder used Acid Magic when they started my pool and I continued to use it for a few months. I thought it was great as I was adding quite a bit since my fill water has very high TA. I was still having my water tested at the pool store (to satisfy the builder) and my phosphates kept...
