So those are a standard 2" NTP? I thought those would be proprietary as well. I can make that work then without having to by the unions. Why should I remove the thermal regulator?

Yes, we have a saltwater pool and they still look good after 7 years. I don’t recall them mentioning problems with saltwater when we installed it, just problems with the coating adhering to the copper. I’m guessing as long as the coating does not get compromise, they should be fine.

Quick update. I resumed aeration this morning and checked FC, which is holding. PH is up to 7.4-7.5, so I added my first dose of CYA and continue to hold my FC in the 8-10 range. I'll keep this up until I can get my CYA up to 30, then run a normal SLAM. Water is already looking much better...

Just FYI-"Acid Magic" adds phosphates to your water (don't ask how I know). You typically do not have to worry about phosphates if you keep things balanced. Your small dosing and ability to change water will also help. Just something to be aware of.
