Thanks, and yeah, I figure getting the look I want is worth the maintainance. Besides, kids need chores!

Hi, The Plumeria is the one right at the edge of the pool in the deck planter at waters edge. No leaves on it right now, they are just coming in again. Awesome pink flowers throughout the summer. It gets into the low 40's from time to time and they don't like it. I have a sentimental attachment...

Trees in, no plants or ground cover yet. We put in 1 Big California Sycamore, 2 Austrailian Willows, 1 big Forest Pansy, 2 Chinese Magnolias ( 1 yellow 1 pink) and 1 Plumeria. We put in deep root barriers as we planted. Next step is shrubs/plants/ground cover and grass in the yard. After that...

Trees came and got hoisted into the yard by crane. They had to come back with a bigger crane to set them.

    Colored plaster

I went with the dark gray knowing it would mottle or get blotchy. For me that is what makes the pool look less pooly and more pondy which is what I wanted. But my builder still supplied me with samples of finishes, yours should too.

Pool Build Time Lapse, updates Pics

Re: Our Pool Build Thanks, Funny you ask that. From the pictures it does not look like it but it has a big shallow end. It's shallow to the first "bump" in on the right side to the first boulder on the left side. Almost half the pool is shallow end and the deep end is only 6 feet deep. I'll...

Hi again, Yes I meant CYA 25, low from what I'm told. I plan to add more conditioner. My pool store recomends 30-50 on CYA. The generator is an IC40 running @ 15% 8 hour run time. They didn't write numbers down for the Calcium Hardness, I'll be sure to ask next time. John

Heres an update from last week. Made my own crude, but effective automatic acid injector and have been really monitoring the results. Here it is as of today: Free Chlorine 6 pH 7.6 Total Alkalinity 120 CA 25 Salt 3200 So I'm getting closer and will just continue to monitor and add as needed. One...

Hello all again! Thanks for the welcome and support. I will refine my numbers and post them but it seems like I need to get used to the acid drill for a while. I will look into an injector, home-made or commercial. I guess a more sophisticated test kit is in my near future as the cheapie blue...

Hello All, I'm John, from Southern California. I had a salt-water pool built last year, finished and filled mid October. It's dark gray plaster, free form shape, rock coping, jumping/sitting boulders at the edge of deep end, attached/raised jacuzzi with spillway. All Pentair Equipment...
