    Midnight Blue and Tropics BlueStonescapes

See link to my build in sig. As far as water temp goes....it's really not gonna matter that much. My brother lives a few miles from me and went with "Irish Mist", which is significantly lighter than my "Midnight Blue"...and his water temps aren't too much different than mine. It may be a bit...

New Pool Build in Central Texas

CC did our pool as well in Sunwest Village (Harris Creek area). They also did my brothers (Rancho Lorena). Adam and Lindsey are good folks. The only thing I wish I would have asked more about was the control panel. I'm in tech field, so the lower end panel we got doesn't quite have all...

What's One More Pool in Central Texas

There should be some pics on the previous page. However if you are wanting something from a different angle, I can see what I have in my phone. If there is a certain view you would like to see, I can grab some pics when I get home later. The pool is 33' from farthest point (deep end side) to...

New Pool + Cabana + Putting Green - Lucas, TX

Nice build! With a tad bit of work sprinkled in; this made my Friday morning fly by! So thanks! One quick "Wish I woulda" to keep in mind. If the Automation system isn't already installed.....make sure it has all of the features that you want. Most all come with a remote of sorts....but...

    Returns question

Got it! Thanks. We usually only run it when we have company seeing it for the first time...or if there is a young one playing on the tanning ledge.

    Returns question

Thanks for the replies gents. Will go with counter clockwise to see how it does. Should I leave fountain on or off for the most part? Wind mostly comes from the tanning ledge to deep end.

    Returns question

Hey guys. So I've noticed that I have a lot of stuff floating on top of the pool that "should" be getting caught by the skimmers. I think over the summer, people playing with the returns got the flow out of whack. Any advice on how they should be oriented? Red = skimmers Orange = returns...

Plastic strip between tile and concrete coping?

I certainly could be wrong; but I wouldn't hold my breath on an answer. The OP has 2 posts since becoming a member of this forum; and they are both contained in this thread....which is almost a year and a half old.

TFP--Why does it work so well?

I too was lucky to find this site just before starting our build. I did not "speak" pool at all; so this is the only method I know. I know a bunch of people that tell me to "just take a sample to the pool store and they'll tell you exactly what you need". And I could see how appealing that is...

Refurb 2005 pool outside of Dallas, plaster, tile, New LEDs, new sheers.

Light's look great! I'm in the same boat.....my Color Logics wont stop on Red either. Yet they briefly flash red during one of the "light shows". So frustrating that one of the most universal popular colors isn't available. I contacted Hayward support and they confirmed that I would have to...

What's One More Pool in Central Texas

Thanks! Plan on power washing and staining the fence this weekend (if the weather holds out). Still need to get some décor in and around the beds. As well as a few things to hang on the fence. Some of the plants didn't make it through the winter....so I'll need to replace those as well...

What's One More Pool in Central Texas

Hi folks! Been almost a year since we completed our pool. Thought I would post some updated pics. Bat-Face Cuphea's - Wonder how they got that name? They didn't survive the winter :-( Phillips Hue canned lights (can change a range of colors or do "light shows"). We really...

    CH and CYA high

Thanks again for Reply. Yea, it was exactly 100. Contacted PB last night and he clarified that he didn't want me leaving the pebble exposed for a long amount of time (like a week); but said that draining half and re-filling would be fine. Guess I'll be draining the pool this weekend.

Thanks for quick reply. Any insight on exposing pebble for however long it takes to do the water change?

    CH and CYA high

Hey there guys and gals, Had my first bout with algae about 1 week ago since completing the pool last summer. I shocked it once, brushed all walls and floor.....let it do its thing for 2 days. Then removed filters and cleaned them thoroughly. Added one more bag of shock since FC was already...

It would be nice if they would include Airplay and Google music to the list of available options....but that would likely change the affordable $35 to $135.

New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX - Pump problem - please help

Re: New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX I have 1 in the pool. It seems to cover everything just fine EXCPET for the tanning ledge (which is farthest from the light). I wish I would have had one put in up there, but it's really not that big of a deal.

New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX - Pump problem - please help

Re: New Pool Build in SW Austin, TX Few things that you may want to ask about: Price per additional sq ft of decking Price to upgrade to color LED lights (both pool and spa) additional skimmer My pool (in my sig) is very close in size to yours, and I have 750sq ft of decking....still wish I...

Connect iPhone to 2 bluetooth receivers?

Yea, pulling wire is no fun (especially on newer homes that have fire breaks half way down the wall). Even though we were the first to live in ours, it was already built before we found it. So if I ever build a home, I will be certain that raceways are put in to pull cables and wires easily...

    Backyard/pool necessities

We bought the same chaise loungers from SAMS that you did. We also bought this from SAMS as well. Same manufacturer as the chairs, so they match perfect. 2 birds one stone. Cooler space is much bigger than you'd think. Stock photo...not my pool

Connect iPhone to 2 bluetooth receivers?

Why wouldn't you be able to run the wires? Are you saying that you are going to run the outside speakers via another receiver? If so, you can buy 2 Chromecast Audio's (1 for each receiver). CCA's have the ability to group to one another and play the same thing. For instance: CCA1 =...

You get yours, I'll get mine build in Navasota, TX

That's incredible! My PB GUARANTEED 6 weeks (weather and all). They missed their mark by 2 days, but was mostly to rectify one of my complaints so I cut them some slack. These contractors are all so busy this time of year; I'm mostly impressed at how well your PB was able to orchestrate them...

    Hello fellow Austin pool folks

That's unfortunate; but completely agree with leaving it as is. The only way I would consider having them redo is if I was going back with a color that wasn't supposed to match...like sand colored. Still an awesome pool!

Pool Builders: Why Do You Over Promise, Under Deliver and Fail To Communicate?

Any time during the process of my build that I had a concern or question, I always approached it with a little bit of personal interaction (trying to portray that I'm not just a bothersome customer) and the "compliment sandwich" approach. For Instance: "Hey how did the college visits you and...
