To be honest I don't know the age, we just purchased the house in July. Looking at the appraisal district records it looks like the pool was built in 2006 so I would imagine it is still original equipment.

We only put it in service to see if the pump would shut off due to thermal protection, but to answer the questions it ran for 24 hours in service without shutting off.

We have an Aqualogic saltwater system with an emerson pump motor. The motor shuts off on its own before the timer expires, sometimes after an hour sometimes after 10 minutes. If we engage service mode and turn the pump on it stays running and doesn't shut down which leads me to believe it is not...
