    Pentair MasterTemp or Raypak

Thanks ps0303. I asked them about the Raypak and the sales person was saying that there wasn't many sales on the west coast (mostly east coast brand) and may be harder to get parts thus would take longer to fix because of it. I didn't really believe any of that line considering Raypak is out...

    Pentair MasterTemp or Raypak

My old Teldyne-Laars XE (325K BTU) heater has finally bit the dust and was looking to replace it. Local pool repair suggested replacing it with a Pentair Mastertemp (250K BTU). Quote was $2500 for R&R of the old heater with the new one. But was thinking of also the Raypak (Model: P-R266A...

Are the warranty guarantees truly reliable for solar covers?

Re: Are the warranty guarantees truly reliable for solar cov Main thing about warranties - ask what is covered. Bought a Solar cover from Leslies (5-year Warranty) in 2007. It started deteriorating last year (4 years into the warranty) and thought I would bring it in for a claim. Find out...

    Skim-eeze ?

Update. The way the overhang of the deck goes over the skimmer makes it impossible to mount it as is. I'll have to see if I can figure out a way to mount it. Rindy, sorry to hear that. Makes me wonder if I want to put the effort to devising a custom mount.

    Skim-eeze ?

Just picked this up at Leslie's for $20 today. I'll try it out and report back. Though currently with the rains, the pool is full so flow towards the skimmer is not as efficient until I drain some water.

How to Cut Solar Cover to Fit Kidney Pool?

I have a free-form pool and cut mine in half to make it easier to add/remove. Some things I learned that I will do on my next cover when I have to replace this one are: 1. Leave some overlap at the ends of at least 1.5-2ft. so you can place water jugs on them to keep the wind from blowing it...

    Skimmer "socks"

Has anyone gotten the skimmer socks from Leslie's lately? They must be half the size now and I can't even get them to fit in my basket anymore. It's well past the 14 days, but I'm going to Leslie's and see if I can get some kind of refund since they don't fit my basket anymore since they...

    Hit With Muriatic Acid Fumes

I store my MA in the shed but the vapor has gotten to lots of metal stuff I store in the shed (tools, bikes, etc.) and they now have surface rust. I've started placing a plastic grocery bag over the top to help minimize the vapors, but still don't think it is an ideal solution. I definitely...

    tf 100 test cylinder

This subject was brought up last year: test-vial-graduations-t8966.html Here was my findings last year: I noticed the same thing. I have found that to get 10ml, you need to fill it to the 12ml mark. Also, to fill 25ml of water, one actually has to fill it to the 28ml mark. I verified this by...

Solar blanket when water is warm?

No problem. Mine is in the mid-upper 80's. If you want to keep the water warm, keep the blanket on. Just keep an eye on the chlorine. You lose less with the cover but much easier to get complacent with it on.

    Solar cover irregular shaped pool

I have an irregular shaped pool also and here is what I learned about my solar cover. Don't cut it to the exact shape so that it sits in the water, but leave enough overhang so that you can put it over the sides. This helps any leaves, debris that fall onto the cover from going into the...
