Overdid the conditioner - CYA too high again after drain and fill

Last summer we drained our pool to tackle a full acid wash. Once it was sparkly white we re-filled with water and got CC and Ph to a reasonable level. I'm ashamed to admit I didn't test anything else, nor did I concern myself with CYA levels. You'd think I'd have known better. Got serious...

    SWG backflush question

When I backflush, I run a flat hose out to the front lawn to discharge the water. If I were to go to a SWG system would I still be able to discharge onto the lawn, or would the salt content wreck the grass?

Where in San Diego do you get bulk pool chemicals?

I'm really jealous of those who can go to their pool supplier and get bottles of acid or chlorine filled in bulk. My local pool supplier will not sell to the public. I have to go to one of the Box Stores or Wallyworld for that. Anybody know where in San Diego county you can get your bottles...

    Looking for SWG conversion pointers

I'm considering converting to a SWG system. Pool specs are in my sig, but what's not stated is the DE filter is made from Stainless Steel. Will this cause me grief? Do I need to get a different filter before I convert? Is there a sticky with all the newbie information listed? :drown: He'p me!

Does it matter where you take your water sample from?

I've plumbed a faucet into the backflush valve housing which allows me to take a water sample at the pump (when the pump is running) instead of crouching down at the pool. It's a convenience thing and easy on my back and knees. I can't see why it would matter, but since I've never posed the...

    CYA off the charts

Got my Taylor K2006 last Friday and got to prepping for a Saturday pool party. The pool had been covered for three days and I was alarmed to see so much green on the floor. I filled a pitcher with water for testing after I finished vacuuming, then set about cleaning up. It was surprising how...

    Amail - hi all!

Hello all! I found this site a week or so ago while researching automatic pool chemical systems. I'm looking forward to seeing my pool clear and clean with less effort than I'm expending now! ;) I've been using the five (six?) bottle test kit you find at Home Depot, but from what I'm reading...
