My old DE filter died, so I purchased a new filter. I went with sand because of cost. I was sold a 19" filter. I'm afraid it might be too small. I have an inground pool that is 17,000 gallons. My pump is 3/4 HP, I have 1 skimmer and 1 drain. Is this the correct size for my pool?

Does anyone know where to get a new 'flap' for my skimmer? Attached is a picture of what I am talking about. Thanks.

In the summer, when the sun is going down, it shines in a way that pretty much blinds you. Are there any recommendations as to something to use to block the sun while still letting the breeze through? It would have to be mounted vertically.
