Considering a 24’x52” Intex, any special considerations or preparations at the beginning of this project if I want to leave the frame up year round?

I’ve had a 15’ frame long ago, modified for a skimmer and upgrade sand filter. But at our new house, we just went for a cheap $100 pool last year. But we’ve got one perfectly flat spot that will need fairly minimal prep. But I loathe the idea of taking a big frame pool down at the end of...

Pool recommendation: smallest with a decent filter?

I had a ~15’ round Intex maybe 10 years ago. Upgraded to a sand filter, cut in a wall flap trap, etc…. So I’m mediumly familar with smaller above ground pools. But it’s been a while :) We moved, and we’d like to consider a pool. I’ve got a decent spot that wouldn’t require a ton of prep...

Warming up the pool questions: adding a solar heater?

Greetings! Last year we dove into an Intex ultra 14" as our first pool. We went more hardcore that we were planning, leveling the base, 2650 pump and in wall skimmer, but we LOVED it. I'm in western Oregon though, so our season is small, but we also have hard core cold water swimmers. This...

Taking the pool down for the first time: questions

I've read several posts, but I have a few remaining questions: I have a 14' ultra frame, with in wall skimmer and 2650 sand filter. I'm in Wet and mild Oregon, not worried about freezing. Should i remove the wall skimmer? Undo all the screws? Scrub -> drain -> dry -> storage? I'm...

How often to backwash Intex 2650?

Just got this pump, LOVING it, but I'm curious how often I should plan on back washing the filter? I'm installing an inwall skimmer tomorrow if that helps with your answer at all.

Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about stoc

My 2650 intex sand filter and hayward skimmer are coming tomorrow. I'm reading up and ready for the install, except I'm a little confused on where the best location is to install the skimmer? I'm guessing it won't replace the current pump intake. If that's the case, do I need to either plug...

Would this used filter/pump work well for a 14'x42" Intex?

Looking to upgrade my "baby pump" to something more substantial so I can add an in-wall skimmer and get more suction with our pool vacuum. The person selling say it was just used one summer. Hayward Power Flo (1hp) and a "Vari Flow", though I think that refers to the valve, not the actual sand...

Vacuum options for 14' intex ultra

I snagged some chemicals at a local store, and they suggested a hand powered floor cleaner/skimmer for $46. It's terrible. I'm going to take it back, but fear they will only give me store credit. Is there a way to attach a simple hose and vacuum head to the intex system? I have young kids...

Help! First pool, not going so well

I'll start off my saying I'm a complete pool noob. I've been reading as much as I can, but it takes a while for all the chemistry to sink in. I'm reading through Pool School as well as the Intex Pool Sticky We decided to get a cheap 15' intex easy up as our starter pool. We really couldn't...
