I live I North Carolina and am having knee replacement surgery on 9/5 so my pool days for this year will end. It will still be quite warm here in September and even into October. Are there are any issues if I close my pool just before my surgery?

My question is this. When closing for the winter, I remove drain plugs in my Triton sand filter and Pentair Pool pump. When the water drains from those two devices, does that also empty all water in the other piping that is in the picture?

Is there a non chlorine based winter closing kit that uses a non copper base algaecide?

Have an 9,000 gal lap,pool. Total free chlorine was 0.5 and added 2-1/2 lbs. granular shock. TFC level came up to 5. This morning it’s back to 0.5. Help!
