    Is going from a 2 HP Single Speed Pump to a 1.5 HP Variable OK?

    I currently have a very old single speed 2 HP Jandy Stealth Pro Series Pump that I need to replace. I'm thinking about replacing with a 1.5 HP Variance Speed. Would that be OK even though it's lower HP?
