Century B2983 2 speed pump - rattles on high, quiet on low (video)

Pressure is fine on high and low so eliminated suction or blockage I believe. Some research leads me to believe the rattle is either debris or broken part of the impeller or something and not bearings. Thoughts are appreciated. See video below.

Master temp heater - HLS replaced - prevent rusting in the future

I have a SW pool and evidently the saltiness of the water rusted out the contacts for the HLS on my Max E Therm SR400NA heater. I replaced the HLS, added new sliding L shaped connectors, etc.... My question is how to avoid the rusting in the future? Perhaps I need to cover it with a rubber...

Volleyball bases - weighing them down internally

So I have a portable volleyball net setup with bases on either side of the pool that are not anchored to the pool deck in any way. The idea is you fill up the bases with water and that provides weight to relatively keep them stable. Well, after a while, they leak water and they lighten up and...

    Cleaners in general

If you think you are rather handy and can figure things out, I highly recommend, when you begin having trouble with your cleaner (probably side pressure cleaners may be best for this task), buy a nonworking model off Ebay for really cheap and use it for spare parts. This is probably an approach...

    Gimmick?

Isn’t this just a gimmick? If your filter isn’t able to make your water sparkle (assuming chemicals and such are good to go), then you need filter maintenance or replacement…not a pill! ha ha

    Pool vacuum recommendation

I have a "party" pool sized pool which is about 15K gallons. If I can get a vacuum that is less cost in maintenance and built well, I don't mind vacuuming the pool vs continuing to have to repair this side pressure Polaris Quattro thingy cleaner. If you have a recommendation for a vacuum, I'd...

Quattro cleaner - debris escaping (FIXED! SEE PIC)

My Quattro cleaner (see sample photo below of what we have) works and picks up leaves, etc... just fine....almost. However, given we have lots of pine trees behind our back fence so wind blows loose, finer debris into the pool regularly, this is what we really need the cleaner to handle because...

    Pump motor - start-capacitor life?

New here....this forum has been greatly helpful; thankful to the hosts, admins and contributors. FYI - just replaced my start capacitor on my 2 speed Century pump. Unsure how old the pump is, but the capacitor I replaced had a build date of 2012. I discovered is was the start capacitor...
