How soon after exposed aggregate concrete pour can we install 3" brass screw in anchors for safety cover?

Thank you and Allen appreciate the attachment on watering the concrete. We were hoping that the Pool person we are bringing in might be able to do the anchors as well but his team will not be in town for 28 days. We know the exposed aggregate will need to cure and we should not be concerned with...

Planning for our spring pool renovation. Would you think it safe to drill holes in the first two weeks...

Central NJ Tile selection for Waterline and Raised Spa Wall

Thank you. Will work with the graph paper and we are determined to stick with 6x6 tiles. There is a raised spa wall and we found a tile that is interlocking for the Wall that is 6 x 16 wide. Next steps to determine IF the wall is flat enough ( taking off cover to determine) and determine if this...

Central NJ Tile selection for Waterline and Raised Spa Wall

Working on renovation of free form pool and looking for comments / confirmation that Porcelain is the correct material for frost thaw climates like NJ. We have a free form pool and I understand 6X6 would be ideal size tile but I am not sure why that is if someone could educate us. Also MIGHT I...

Central NJ renovation raised spa and pool decking considerations

“Dry set” versus “wet set” pavers. Apparently some set their pavers in sand “dry” and others set them in concrete “wet”.

Central NJ renovation raised spa and pool decking considerations

Apparently there is a weak spot in the pool decking around the skimmer when it is set in concrete. Cracks emerge over time. It was suggested that the cover be “ boxed out” say like in a piece of Travertine and then an expansion joint to the rest of the patio concrete. Thoughts?

Central NJ renovation raised spa and pool decking considerations

Any thoughts or experience on Boxing in skimmers in the pool decking? Deciding on pool decking materials still and have heard some PB's "box" in the covers in the pool deck surface to stop concrete from cracking. Between pavers and concrete - as the Pavers in a "wet set" of concrete seems like...

Central NJ renovation raised spa and pool decking considerations

Found today our spillway is 2 feet wide and Yes water flows consistently through the spillway except for when the spa is running. Not sure if this is significant but the existing surface is a 90 degree angle and was not pitched slightly toward the pool. Hoping we can add a stone extended a bit...

Central NJ renovation raised spa and pool decking considerations

A bit lost. How likely that the raised spa surface would sustain over time with pavers? How would you think the surface would be prepared so it didn’t slide back over time? Thoughts on best material for the spillway so that the water would spill out OVER and not down the tile in the pool. Your...

Central NJ renovation raised spa and pool decking considerations

Thank you. So any guidance between what I need to know with coping and pool decking options? So many paver options. How do you ideally set these concrete pavers? And to keep the anchors for the safety pool cover from pulling up on the paver they are sunk into - is the 16 inch deep anchor in the...
