I read a bunch of reviews on them, and I went with a clear one because “they” say it lets more sun through and heats the water better than colored, and the retention of heat is the same with all colors. I got a 16 mil just because I want it to be more durable. Good luck!

Thanks for this! We just put our solar cover on yesterday and have been raising the temp from 62 degrees. It’s currently 77. I didn’t buy the reel either. My husband and I can pretty easily pull it off and on together.

My sight glass only has water in it when I am backwashing. When it’s on normal filter mode, it’s empty. As far as your pressure gauge, I’d replace it. If it has been left out in the elements during the off season, it is probably broken. Good luck!

I was just about to say this too. The parts inside the pressure gauge are super fragile and can freeze and break long before anything else. I’d replace the gauge and see. They’re pretty cheap in the pool section of Lowes or Home Depot, or Amazon.

Thank you! Yes, I SLAMmed it for days and days. I WISH I had counted the gallon bottles of bleach before I sent them to recycling. I would guess 40 bottles or more. People at my local grocery store definitely thought I was up to no good ?!
