New TFT reagents, getting much different results

FYI switched out the tips with some other bottles and now I’m getting identical readings with both sets of reagents. Hooah. If I wanted to buy more tips from like Amazon, what’s the search term? Or could I reach out to TFTestKits and buy some from them you think?

New TFT reagents, getting much different results

IT looks like my Taylor R0012 bottle tip doesn't fit on the TFTestKit bottle (smaller diameter). I have other old TFT Bottles (not an old R0012 bottle though) how do I know which re-agents use this same drop size?

Hayward SWG: instant salt vs average salt vs drop test results

If this happened would it be obvious or have visible damage when I inspect the unit?

New TFT reagents, getting much different results

Same results this morning practicing better dropper etiquette 😉 (form?) 18 drops of r00012 with old re-agents, 24-25 drops with the new TFT re-agents. Here's a video showing both tests I made: At this point I don't know whether to think that my CH is really high (625 range) or where I've...

Hayward SWG: instant salt vs average salt vs drop test results

@mknauss yeah, I plan on looking up the TFP videos on it before touching it. Haven't done it before though... I imagine the scale will be easy to see if there is any?

Hayward SWG: instant salt vs average salt vs drop test results

@ajw22 thanks, here you go: I started this morning after the SWG was off all night...probably around 12-13 hours off. I'm taking screenshots of the outdoor controller on my OmniPL as it has a few more readouts then the mobile app. Here's the readout this morning before turning the SWG on...

Hayward SWG: instant salt vs average salt vs drop test results

Thanks for the find @Newdude! So if average is reading 3700-3800ppm on the SwG and a Taylor drop test is coming in 3000-3200, is that enough difference to warrant talking to Hayward/PB or live with it? It seems to be working fine… Also, I noticed in that thread commentary about turning SWG off...

New TFT reagents, getting much different results

I am not holding the bottles vertically. Closer to 45 degrees. But I’m doing the same thing with both the old reagents and new reagents. I will re try in the morning. Yes. Well, I have the Taylor reagent bottles, but they aren’t empty yet and what I was testing against. They’re different size...

New TFT reagents, getting much different results

Just received a refill set of reagents from TFTestkits. My calcium test results are coming in much hotter then my previous reagents. My old reagents are Taylor-branded bottles, and they are still in date and stored indoors. Pool was filled fresh on Jan 11 (after a plaster repolish). On Jan 12...

Hayward SWG: instant salt vs average salt vs drop test results

Are these numbers within error tolerance ranges, or should I do something? Taylor drop test consistently measures at 3200ppm SWG instant salt reading consistently reads in the 3500s SWG average salt reading consistently reads in the 3700s. I find it strange the instant salt reading is always...

Pool Builder Listed Jandy JXI 400N on Contract, but Permit Shows Aquacal T-135.

Sounds like they just made a mistake on the permit. Builders do a lot of copy and paste and sometimes don’t update everything. I’d just ask them / confirm

    Aluminum or steel fence prices

Metal fencing has been skyrocketing. Last time I got fencing installed (last October) powder coated steel was coming in over 20/linear foot and my fence guy said it was about to go up another 20-40%. $40 is def high but no price surprises me any more

Trim tile--can it be repaired after plaster?

Yes we love the Primera stone. So very happy with it. We had an issue where there was a lot of “holes” in the finish…almost like little pebbles popped out. It wasn’t all over but it was apparent on our tanning ledge at night because we have a light there. But the builder came out and drained the...

Trim tile--can it be repaired after plaster?

Our builder refused to do trim tile with Primera stone, even more so that we did glass tile. Even some of our waterline glass tile got a little “polished” / scratched. 100% because it’s hard / nearly impossible to not go over the trim tile some when you’re polishing, and the pads are going to...

    Plaster completed finally

Fwiw my pool builder knew we were on the fence, offered a little bit as settlement, then offered more after I told them to change it. It sounds like you know the process to change it. If you do change it, they will likely only chip out the plaster near the tile and around fittings but keep...

    Plaster completed finally

Do you like the color? If you don’t, nothing else matters make them correct it. You’ll never like it and it’s all you’ll ever think about. Fwiw, our pool builder plastered the wrong color. We made them change it and we are glad every day that we did. We love the right color so much. If you...

    LSI

there’s an article in the wiki on LSI vs CSI, the latter this forum prefers to focus on. A pH in the 7s is fine. 7.9 is fine as is 7.6. There’s not really a “perfect” If you want to keep your CSI more neutral in the winter letting your pH creep up is fine. A neutral CSI means your chemistry...
