    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Thanks, Autopool!!! Gee, Maytronics really does a good job of hiding neat features like this. On their web site, they claim the S200 and S300 also have "Automation Mode", but I will confirm once I get my S200 next week. If anyone else out there wants to try this trick on their S200, let me...

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Anticipating future repairs for my S200, I was surprised that the Motor assembly and the Power Supply are the same for the S200, S300 and S300i. No difference at all. So how does the unit know what model it is? I am guessing that the S300 and S300i just have some software enabled that the...

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

I found this on the Maytronicsus site. Dolphin pool cleaner - Automation Mode - YouTube It appears to be using powerline communications such as X10 or Insteon? Bluetooth would not work at distances shown in the video. But no documentation on it anywhere. Looks interesting though.

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Thanks for the lead, found the thread! Thanks for another confirmation that floating covers are not a deal killer for waterline cleaning robots. I am going ahead with the S200! One more question, this time regarding automation. I see all of the S series show "Automation Mode" feature on the...

Leaving cleaner in pool with cover on?

pooldv, does your robot do waterline cleaning like the the Dolphin S200/300? I leave my floating solar cover on all season to prevent water evaporation and was worried about getting a robot that does waterline cleaning since it might catch in the cover. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks. I did a lot of reading but could not find anyone mentioning floating/solar covers and if they cause issues with S series models with waterline cleaning. I will go back and do some more reading but good to hear that this does not appear to be a big issue. If it was, I am sure someone...

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Thanks. Yes, my research seems to confirm only the S300i or similar models have the option for floor only. So has anyone with a floating solar cover had issues with the S200 or S300 getting caught up in the cover as it does the waterline? I guess my other options would be to get a model that...

On the S200, can you select to not do waterline? I have a floating pool cover and am worried it will cause issues trying to clean the waterline with the floating pool cover. I want to be able to turn this feature on only when the cover is off.

OK to keep robotic cleaner in pool?

I am going to replace my Polaris 380 with a robotic cleaner. I leave my Polaris in the pool all year long, removing it only when kids are swimming. It has held up well for the past 7 years needing only a few minor repairs such as belts. Can I do the same with a robotic cleaner? I am often...

Aqua Rite - should current limiter get VERY hot

Excellent point. The purpose of the current limiter is to prevent damaging initial inrush of current. It does this by limiting current when cool (normal startup) and gradually increasing current as the part heats up. But it if is already hot on startup, it will allow a spike. I am surprised...

Aquarite Not generating - lights not on

New Board Revision I just installed my new Aqua Rite and noticed that the board is slightly revised from all of the videos and photos I have seen so far. The 'current limiter' appears larger now, and is mounted vertically rather than horizontally. However, the part number remains the same so...

Any damage to Cell if unit is powered on when no pump flow?

Re: Any damage to Cell if unit is powered on when no pump fl Then so long as the Flow Switch is properly installed and working, there is no problem having the SWG powered on while the pump is off?

Any damage to Cell if unit is powered on when no pump flow?

How bad is it to have a SWG on when the pump is not? Will the flow switch save the Cell from damage in this case? Here is the background: Because I have a VS pump, I cannot put the SWG on the same circuit for power. There is an automation upgrade coming in about 4 months that will solve...

Economics of SWG in high electricity cost area?

Thanks! There appears to be a lot of misinformation floating around on how much electricity SWG use. There are a few sites I have run across that imply they use as much as a single speed pump. Thanks.

Economics of SWG in high electricity cost area?

Here is Northern California bay area, PG&E charges 37 cents per KWH for anyone who uses any real amount of electricity (the more you use, the more they charge per KWH). Given this super high cost, does SWG still make sense? Given the initial cost of purchase and installation (assuming about...

Intermatic Multiwave PE653rc + AquaRite goldline swg

FYI, I just talked to Intermatic tech support on using the PE653RC with SWG and VS Pump. JasonLion, you are correct. The best way to address this is to use the timer function on an unused relay of the PE653RC and have it turn the SWG on shortly after the pump cycle is to start and turn it off...
