its easy to do the kit, it will become really really easy once you realize what and when you need to test things. im on the other side of the valley in west hills by the way - we have it easier because we don't have to "close" and "open" our pools like a lot of these ladies and gentlemen who...
it seems by simple math that if you are holding a steady level of chlorine at 50% for 24 hours, it would seem impossible for you to keep up in only 10 hours. but there may be other factors involved. thats why i asked for your numbers.
YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU CAN MAKE ENOUGH CHLORINE TO MAKE UP FOR WHAT YOU LOSE DURING THE DAY. you are running 24/7 @50% and it appears you are making enough to keep up with demand. Running it all day at that setting seems like you should be making WAY more than enough to keep up. I...
Re: Auto fill feature
is the pool going HIGHER than the level you want it at after the adjustment? when it gets close to the limit, the float will bob a little bit and trickle water in until it hits the right level and turn on and shut off only letting in a small amount of water at a time...
mine came with an adjustable regulator valve that allowed you to decrease the suction. i tossed it because i had just the right amount. this is the one that came w/ the poolvergnugen. im of course assuming you have a suction side vacuum, which may not be the case.

You have to have the pump ON to make the SWG work. Do you have a variable speed pump? If you have a 2 speed or variable on top of running it less, you'll save LOTS of money on electricity. Your pump run time in your case relies on making sure you get enough chlorine from the SWG into your pool...
does your spa overflow into your pool? i have a similar setup where i have a manual valve that i can adjust between spa and pool returns - usually i split the difference so i get a bit just to make my overflow work but still get some circulation in the pool. the two electric valves you're...
Re: pb recommeds AGAINST umbrella sleeves in deck
yup, exactly. a nice sleeve (not a couple feet deep, maybe a foot at most) and a plastic cap on it. just make sure the pole is aluminum and you take it out when you're done. my pool guy SUGGESTED it - i knew i wanted one already. just put...
The big thing is the inline chlorinator - i'd be interested to see what exactly they are using to make that happen, but its usually something that auto feeds trichlor tabs - and that pretty much goes against the entire premise of everything this site preaches.
we use the tommy bahama chairs on the deck and they work great. i think my spa is 7ft or 8ft but i forget. can easily seat like 6/7 adults comfortably. the pool is basically 30ftx16ft. kinda forgot to be honest and im out of town right now or i would measure for you. same sort of thing...
That looks very simialr to the pool we just put in (top drawing). except we have a shallow end and a deep end. we have about a 10" baja deck. could probably be 12" and be just fine.
when the internet started, i actually was able to get just [email protected] - then i switched and was only able to get umpalumpajay - i've had it for years. lol! its very memorable, thats for sure!
the first time i ran my tests i found it useful to just try to do them myself following the SIMPLE instructions that came with it...then i came here when i had some questions specifically on the CYA test. i think getting an overload of info right off the bat can be intimidating and make it seem...
I got sold on it too, its pretty much useless and even though there is a "no stain guarantee" on the unit, over time its just putting more and more minerals into your pool so eventually it will have to stain and people suggest the copper it adds could turn hair green. The Fusion basically adds...
oooooooh, hahaha! there was no "0" in the salt column and i have a tendency to read right to left (its a weird habit). Get some CYA and chlorine in that pool stat! LOL!
Thats an interesting point, when having a big party, do people pre-load with a bit more chlorine than they need in general? is that recommended? it makes sense.
Sounds like youre actually in a pretty good place stability-wise with your pH. i'd just add the Borax and bump it up to 7.4 instantly and see how that holds over a few days.

Whats the waiver for on the SWG (that IS salt water). makes chlorinating your pool pretty much automatic. The fusion is a Nature 2 product. Mine includes my Salt cartridge, while the model you're talking about includes a chlorine tab feeder. I don't know much about that except the...
not that you're getting the Nature 2, but to add to what Casey said, the Nature2 and similar devices advertise being able to use a LOT lower chlorine level - just to prevent algae from forming, but we have doubt about its ability to properly sanitize the pool at such low levels. plus you have...
