    Possible water under liner

Sort of. It started as a liner. Just a regular old traditional liner pool. I think he wanted to not have to replace the liner any more, and the way it was described to me is they tried having a blown fiberglass "liner" installed. And there IS a textured layer that reminds me of chopped strand...

    Possible water under liner

Should I attempt to vac the water that's under the liner through the hole before I patch it? It's not a great deal, still looks about like the photos I started this thread with. As I talk to the PO more about the history of this pool, once upon a time they tried to go linerless with this pool...

    Possible water under liner

Found it! Now that I did, it's glaringly obvious and I can't not see it. I can't believe I searched for it so long. It's about a 1.5" rip along a seam. Being along the seam I'm afraid is going to complicate having a successful patch. It's nice to know exactly what is going on though.

He says they've always had trouble getting someone to install the liner without any wrinkles. I don't know how typical it is, but he said it's not a standard size or something and it has to be a custom install. They may all be custom and cut to fit, I don't know. I'm just regurgitating what I...

New Pool Owner - Educate Me!

I'm the same way, hence the question haha. But I'm trying hard to quit that habit and cut down on clutter. I would think it would make for a phenomenal transfer pump with a few fittings mated to it, but it's 220v so that would make where I can use it extremely limited. I also wonder if there...

Well, I have this booster pump now for the old Polaris rover. It's half hp, I think. Any reason y'all can think of to hang on to it?

    Possible water under liner

I'm starting to think it's just my wrinkles being more wrinkle-y 😂. I topped it off and it doesn't seem to be dropping quicker than normal, and it doesn't seem that there is a leak with a bucket test. I'll maintain the elevated water level for a while and see if they come back. Those same spots...

Pool slide repair - interfab wild ride?

If that's fiberglass it's absolutely repairable. I stripped an old rotten boat down to a bare hull and rebuilt it from the ground up. In the process I accidentally ran a circular saw right through the hull for about 10". Which I repaired and it has been taking a beating on the water since. My...

    Making old slide slicker

I would love to gelcoat it again and wet sand it down and get it nice and perfect, but holy cow you're talking about a lot of work there and a bit of money also. I imagine I'll eventually do it, but we just moved in in March and I've had a ton of projects on my list. I've put in fencing...

    Making old slide slicker

Hey guys and gals, Do any of you have an old slide? This one is probably 30 years old. The gel coat is oxidized and completely worn through in places. We use a little squirt of dish soap here and there of we really want to get some speed on it 😂. These days, though, I wonder about what that...

    Possible water under liner

I don't know how to tell with my foot if what I'm feeling is water or an air bubble 🤦🏼‍♂️. When I step on it, it doesn't seem like there is a lot of resistance to my step behind it. It readily flattens out to the surface beneath the liner. An inspection this morning seems to suggest they have...

    Possible water under liner

Hey y'all. I have these two "bubbles" that have popped up underneath my liner. My research says that this is generally due to water under the liner floating up. The wrinkles in the liner have been there as long as I remember, supposedly they didn't do the best job installing it. The wrinkles...

    Pentair Warrior SE rebate?

I didn't even try. It seems like me the literature clearly states that to qualify for the rebate I had to pay a minimum purchase price. I paid way less than that minimum purchase price, so I don't think it's right to demand a rebate against the guidelines that accompanied it. $699 for this...

New Pool Owner - Educate Me!

If I understand pool school correctly, I only really *need* to run my main pump long enough to circulate any chemicals that have been added. Any more than that is just up to us and whatever amount of filtering makes the pool clean enough for our liking. Is that correct? If so, if this robot...

Opening my pond (pool) again, but this year will be different . . . right?

I'm a new pool caretaker and for some reason this thread caught my eye from the main page. I enjoyed catching up on it. Amazing to see the difference that took place with only a bit (lot) of chlorine! No algaecide 🙄.

    Automatic Robots

I've exchanged a few emails with Margaret, and I believe once the invoice gets here, I'm placing an order for the Pentair Warrior SE. Seems unbeatable for my needs and the price, once I compare it to other models that meet my needs.

My new Pool Devil Pro seems to be helping tremendously with keeping the pool cleaner. My chlorine pump is working well and last I checked FC was at 9, with my target at 8. Everything is going well!

    Diy liquid chlorine pump

I tested the pool last night about an hour after the chlorine pump had finished its cycle. There was a lot of swimming this past weekend. The FC level was at 8 when I installed the pump and quit with the manual dosing. My goal is to maintain around 8, and it tested and 9 last night. Im running...

    Diy liquid chlorine pump

We don't cover ours, so that won't be an issue for us. And that's exactly how I'm running mine right now. Spin on lid with a hole drilled in it left over from some pool chemicals. Although it is a 3.5 gal bucket, and I want to upgrade to a 5. If my chlorine use doesn't go up as it gets hotter...
