As of yet - I have not added CYA - I have a liquid chlorine intellichem system.

Looks like a check value - used to prevent water backflow. I’m not sure the metal going into the pool is an issue - but if it’s broken should be replaced. These things can rust over time.

Indeed, all the plumbing is below grade so it could all drain!

Great idea, thanks. No. Unfortunately that was overlooked and I am trying to think of a way to have some sort of drain or pump there. Right now I use a shop vac when water spills. Not ideal. It’s a basement on concrete slab.
