    CircuPool RJ45+ Cell Connection Error

My RJ45+ gave the cell connection error with keypad lockup error over the weekend. Just got off the phone with DSP. Asked if any pins are bent. When I said no he stated they would send the pcb adapter. I have had the unit just over 2 years but he said the adapter is cover 100% and shipping is...

    Circupool flow switch replacement

Ok. It was that simple to replace got the new flow switch today. Comes in the PVC T just unscrewed the new one from the new T unscrewed the old one from the return line. Lined up the new one and screwed it in. Took a minute or two and I am back to generating chlorine.

    Circupool flow switch replacement

Any one have any experience replacing the flow switch on a circupool RJ45+. I had an incident with neighbors dogs got inside my fence next to pool pad and caught the wire from the switch and broke it. Of course wire broke right next to switch so not enough wire to splice it back together. Just...

New to Salt, Test strip shows Chlorine, digital shows low ORP?

The problem is we can guess but we can’t even say if the guess is right without knowing the chemistry of the pool. As stated before the OTO test reports total Cl. The test you have goes to 3ppm. If you have that number and do a fas-dpd test it would give free Cl and combined Cl separately. If...

Adding SWG - question re multivalve

The menu function will only display salinity when the cell is actively generating. Also I have noticed on mine when it first starts generating the salinity is around 4200-4300 then after a minute or two it comes down close to 3800ppm and stays around it till it finishes the generating run. My...

Circupool RJ 45 plus salt cell; lo salt/check cell light

Are the large swings in salinity happening when it starts up or through the entire run. I test with Taylor K-1766 and get 3800 ppm. My RJ45+ when it first starts generating reads 4200-4300 then after a few minutes of running settles down to 3800-3900 on the menu with my average at 3700-3900. I...

Circupool RJ 45 plus salt cell; lo salt/check cell light

On the controller hit the salinity button and see what reports for average salinity then check and see what salinity it reports with the menu button when it is actually generating. Curious to see if there is a difference. If the average is being updated or it is still using the average from the...

    Secondary SWG

Actually I run my pump 24/7. My SWG a Circupool RJ 45+ in my 22,000 gallon pool I run at about 25% to 30%. The use time on the cell is the same if I run at 25% for 24 hours or 100% for 6 hours. So from a cell life standpoint it makes no difference which run I do. But running a longer time gives...

    Secondary SWG

I understand the OP wants to run their pump at the most efficient speed and time. Looking at the math it doesn’t add up with two SWG. I am one of those people that run my VS pump 24/7 365 don’t close my pool. I run for 22 hours at 1500 rpm and 2 hours at 2200. Higher speed was when I would add...

Adding SWG - question re multivalve

I have an RJ45+ also according to the manual the average salinity will read what was measured at the factory first installed. It takes 24 hours of pool operation for the average to update.

New RJ45+ Install, I glue like a 5 year old.

Out of curiosity contacted Circupool about the cell. They state the cell is not directional. Only the flow switch is directional.

    Dolphin filters

I got a Dolphin Atlantis second hand. It came with filter bag and I switched it to the filter plates. I take it apart and rinse the filter plates after every use. How often do I need to replace the filter plates with new ones.

    Algae question

Thanks for responding. The spots come back in the same place and get to be the same size they start out get to a certain size then stop getting bigger. When I brush them they go away. Sometimes you have to brush with a little force to get them up but then the vinyl liner is clean until they come...

    Algae question

Have had a fun spring so far. Converted to salt water and got ahead of myself. I adjusted chemicals and didn’t plan right took cya up to 70 then installed SWG but had a slight electrical problem that delayed start up haven’t started yet. Check my chlorine it went to 6 ppm. Added bleach and...

    SWG Newbie question

Just installed my circupool RJ45+. I have a stupid question. I have it set on 50% output. Does that mean it generates 50% of time it is on. I had it on noticed it showed about -4.8 amps to cell with foggy water in the cell, and a while later looked everything was on pump was running but...

    Play sand in filter

I have been having trouble with my sand filter. Seeing a lot of dirt in the pool. I opened the filter to do a deep clean and noticed it was less than half full of sand. Rubbed some of the dirt that was on my steps and it was sand. So pretty sure I have a broken lateral. Also when I moved in 3...

    Sand filter question

Moved into my house with an inground pool 3 years ago. I Knew nothing about pools thankfully found TFP and got rid of all the chemicals previous owner left and weekly trips to pool store. Last year I changed out the pump with a Pentair VS Superflo. I started to notice a lot of dirt on the bottom...

    Pump and plumbing change

I am getting ready to change out my old Hayward single speed Superpump for a Pentair Superflo VS and am thinking of redoing my pad plumbing. The picture shows my current arraignment. The pump is between a fence and the filter making it tough to reach the VS controls. Current plumbing from left...

    Pool tet kits

The drop tests are a titration test when you get a full color change say red to blue you have a definite end point adding another drop does not change the color. You know how many drops it took to completely react. Titration tests are usually the gold standard. The color q 7 Looks at color...

    SLAM Complete?

There was a 25 lb box of DE that was here when we bought the house last year. I just started to add about 2 cups to the sand filter after backwashing. Once it is gone, may take a while, I will probably switch over.

    SLAM Complete?

Finished the SLAM Friday. I let the FC start to drift down. I ran the robot in the pool yesterday. A small amount of dead algae and a few dead bugs on the bottom. Numbers yesterday were FC 7.5 CC 0.5 PH 7.4 TA 70 CH 200 CYA 50. Added LC to get to FC 10. I am going to hold it a little higher plus...

    SLAM Complete?

The return on the deep end is pretty strong I can feel it push my hand if I put it in front of it. I also use that jet to blow the air out of the manual vacuum line. I have been manual vacuuming the dead algae out. I actually run my pump full time. I know it is excessive I have been looking at...

    SLAM Complete?

The pump and filter are about 40-50 ft away from the pool on the shallow end on the side of the pool with the jets, skimmer and steps. I will step up the brushing. Was doing it every midweek with the vacuum now robot on the weekend.

    SLAM Complete?

The steps are part of the pool and I have 1.5” plumbing. I have checked Chlorine levels around the pool but only a foot deep. They were the same. I will have to get a deep sample and see if there is a difference. I think for now I will keep my chlorine 2 ppm higher and look into the circulator.

    SLAM Complete?

It’s 18 x 34 two jets one in the shallow end near the steps the other jet is in the deep end. Both jets are on the same side of the pool. One skimmer in the middle between the jets. Bottom drain in the middle of the deep end. The Algae tended to appear on the slant part of the wall under deep...
