    Active 60/m600 Storage

I have a small roof over part of my patio. I store my cleaner on it's caddy with a cover over it. You just need to keep the power supply dry.

Which Robot M600 or Polaris ALPHA iQ+?

I have tested both the wheeled Polaris models and the tracked Dolphin models. Not the IQ+ nor the M600 though. I have found that the tracked Dolphins do climb the wall better. With either type I would recommend getting the fine/extra fine filters.

Advice needed on Pool Pump with Solar Panels Installed

I have a 1 1/2 Hp two speed motor with solar panels. It does fine. With a string of 7 sunny days, my pool temp is about 10 F higher than the highest avg temp during those seven days. I do not try an force the full discharge of the pump through the panels, rather I adjusted the solar heater...

"Swimming pool heating technology: A state-of-the-art review"

I have some doubts about it. They are stating the over a life cycle, heat pumps are more cost effective then solar panels. My solar panels are 13 years old and still going strong.

    Upgrade from Aquabot Supreme

One insight I have between Polaris robots and Maytronics is the Maytronics have a greater ability to climb up onto ledges. It is really the difference between track mounted and wheel drive, Before I purchased my Maytronics, I had a Pentair Great White suction side cleaner. The Maytronics unit...

    ORP in a Saline

Depends on your CYA/stabilizer level. If higher than about 30 ppm, ORP is useless.

    Polaris VRX iQ+

When I was researching pool cleaners, I had the opportunity to demo both the Maytronics and and Polaris 96xx series. One thing I discovered was that the Polaris models would loose traction going up a wall when one set of wheels lost contact with the wall. The Maytronics units with the "tank"...

    3 cleaning questions in one

Most GOOD pool cleaners will climb walls. Most will not climb steps or ledges. So brushing will be needed on steps and ledges. You might have to get a better pool cleaner. What make and model do you have?

    New Dolphin models

It appears that some of the newer models go the the top edge of the pool for removal from the pool. For example the Active 40.

    Dolphin Cable Swivel

The swivel on my Active 30i is very stiff. The part that actually turns is on the end with a piece of clear plastic. Something you can try: grasp the blue cable at one end of the swivel and turn the blue cable at the other end. I agree that in my case the swivel is pretty much useless.

    AquaLogic add WiFi Power Switch

Generally you do not have to. They send you a repaired board and when it arrives, you send them your old board. That is the idea behind "Core"

Facts Hard to Come by on SWG vs. Directly Chlorinated Pools

I don't know why maintaining a pool with a SWCG would be different than a pool without. You clean the pool, and test the water. If the chemicals are off, you adjust them. Some procedure with the two types.

    Active 30i vs Warrior SE

I have the A30i also. I use both the caddy and the phone app to select different cleaning cycles and cycle times depending on pool condition. For example last weekend we pulled the covers off of the pool for the first time in several months. Lots of dirt and leaves. So I set it for a deep...

Any technical details on Maytronics pool robots?

I think that when first starting a cleaning cycle, it "measures" the pool. I have observed the cleaner first moving in the direction it was placed in the pool until it reaches a wall. It will then reverse until it reaches a wall in that direction. It then moves about half way, and makes a 90...

PH drift - what are the options / what is normal

Most salt water pools will have increasing pH. Where I live, the pool is basicily open all year around. I have a Stenner pump setup to add a small amount of acid each day. Something you have to live with.

Best Cleaner for This Pool - Pics

I have an Active 30i. My pool has a ledge on one end which is about 2 feet under water. I can confirm that the Active 30i will climb the wall to that ledge and move across it. I also have wedding cake steps at the other end of the pool. The cleaner does go over these however does not do a great...

    How screwed am I?

Two years ago we had a pipe break under our slab and flooded one bedroom and part of the living room. Our homeowner's insurance paid for most of it. Had to break up the slab and replace a section of CPVC pipe. Then replace some dry wall and the flooring. Not a pleasant experience!

    Plumbing and Skimmer Issues

If you are having water in the basket of the pump, then the leak is in the drain/suction side. I can't tell if the pump has a PVC to threaded adapter on the suction side. If it does, then that might have a crack which is invisible from the outside.

Measurement on sample tubes in TFTestkit don't match Taylor sample tubes. Which is correct?

I purchase my test kit some years ago. About a year after I purchased it, I checked the markings accuracy using a graduated cylinder. Mine were definitely off by about the amount shown. I just took a permanent marker and marked the correct levels. It seems that occasional some of the TFTtestkit...

    VS motor buying options.

I also looked into a variable speed replacement motor. The "automation" adapter is just a communications interface between the pump and an automation system. I believe that for the Century unit the only supported system is Pentair. The motor it self comes with several digital inputs, which can...
