Does it make a difference if it's a blue vs clear cover? I have a blue cover.

Copy that. It is a blue substance. Product by in the swim. Worked wonders with blue as can blue water clarity. I guess I'll use it sparingly if at all. Just amazed that it did wonders to my water.

Pool clarifier? Good bad or simply not necessary. I poured a bottle in for the first time and it added a shimmer and clearness of crystal. Thoughts?

Copy that. I brush once a week. I did get a kit but now it's old. Still got algae only when covering so I'm guessing increased temperature increased chemical bleach demand which I did not account for.

Solar cover = increase in algae? Anyone notice this after covering the pool there is a dramatic increase in algae. Looks brown on the walls. Cover for about two or three days at a time.

FYI while waiting for my test kit, I decided to blast it with bleach. Looks like it was algae. Cleared up in two days. No vacuum required. John

The pool dude installed a VS Pentair bout a month ago and set it for turning on at 10 am to 7 pm to coincide with the use of solar panels and the SolarTouch controller - also set at 2600 rpms. Now if I understand it correct, the pump is suppose to be used as a variable speed. How does the pump...

I need to purchase a test kit for CYA. I've just been dumping about a gallon of bleach in every other day. My test kit is yellow which apparently is an "ideal" level. I know there's that Chlorine and CYA relationship. Guess, I'll hit up amazon right now and purchase a better test kit. John

Hi Folks, I'm assuming this is yellow mustard algae...right? or dead algae parts or pollen? It's yellow. When I brush it off the sides and bottom of the pool it turns into a dark yellow dust and then diffuses into the water (making the water very slightly cloudy). Next day it's back coating...

FYI the mobile skin is still default vb skin. Your probably already working on replacing the header or skin...though I would just point this out. Thanks, John

Does a 20-25% increase translate into monthly cleanings?

82 degrees this morning in California. This is with solar panels and a solar pool cover that were operational as of three days ago. Without the solar cover it would have been 74 degrees. Without the solar panels and cover it would be 66 degrees.

Wow. Fast replies! Okay, went and opened and gases out the filter this morning. Just a squirt of air and then water flow, so it looks like it's okay as y'all suspected! Filter sounds normal and the psi is running at 15 which looks to be about right...prior to the clean it was running at 30...

Just opened and cleaned out the filter for the first time by myself! When restarting I forgot to use the pressure relief valve to blow out the air and get the steady stream of water coming out of the filter relief valve per the manual. The pipes rattled for 15 secs and then settled, filter...
