Want to close, have algae, and sprung a leak

It may be possible. I have to check to see if the hoses will reach. I'm not sure they would. I have a battery powered vacuum, so I may try using that to get some of the debris out.

Want to close, have algae, and sprung a leak

We tried it both ways. Couldn't get it on securely from the outside, so we put it on the inside. Stopped it right away. Just checked the pool and we haven't lost anymore water. Doesn't look the greatest, but it works. The brand is Nashua Tape Products. It's called Waterproofing Repair...

Does anyone remove pump and store inside for winter closing?

I guess that means I shouldn't store mine in the shed with my motorcycle huh?

    Leaf Net question

I bought one too this year for just the same reason! :) I must have gotten your helicopter seed pods because they have been the bain of my existence all summer! They have stained the pool, pavers, shed, furniture. Everything. Good luck with yours.

Want to close, have algae, and sprung a leak

I was planning to close the pool this weekend. Have some algae and shocked the pool. I got a leak in the bottom corner of the liner by one of the supports. (Probably tore it when I was brushing the walls) Got the leak patched up with some waterproof repair tape since the pool stores were all...

AGP liner sprung a leak. water draining fast

Thanks Dave. I did run out and go to Home Depot. Went to the plumbing section and got some Waterproof repair tape. Tried taping it from the outside, but the waterflow was too strong, so hubby got in and did it from the inside. The tear was only about 2 inches long, but the water was really...

AGP liner sprung a leak. water draining fast

my liner has a leak at the bottom of the pool near one of the support posts. you can hear the water running out. the water level has dropped 6" in the last 2 1/2 hours. All the pool stores are closed. Any suggestions for an emergency fix? The water has also hollowed out a hole in the spot...

Closing pool for the season ...

Hi Tiz, sorry to hear about your heart attack, but so glad to hear you are home and doing well! On the recommendation of NWMNMom, I am trying the mesh winter cover and the leaf net. The leaf net seems to work pretty good according to quite a few people. Here is the link for the covers. They...

Ready to fill the pool in

Dead algae is white, so if you are seeing white, that means you are winning the battle. you definitely have to keep the chlorine levels at shock level in order to kill it all. with a CYA of ~20, you should be up around 10ppm for the FC. Once the water clears, and it could happen overnight...

I like my liquidator, it makes BBB super easy.

    i would say it is about 14" x 14" for the 4g.

So How Do We Aereate an AGP?

don't know where he got it, but the previous owner of our house had a plastic tulip attachment on the return. it shot the water up about 12 feet in the air and had a shower effect. it was definitely not expensive looking. check some local pool stores for decorative attachments.

    Water bleaching my liner

Just a quick update. The bleached out spots on the bottom of the pool are definitely brittle. Stepping on them feels like stepping on uneven concrete. There are also a LOT of uneven areas, almost like footprints, and a couple of huge creases. I know now he definitely did this himself...

    Water bleaching my liner

Well, I plan on making my first foray into the pool tomorrow so I will let you know what it feels like from the other side of the wall.

    Water bleaching my liner

I think for me, in the skimmer may be the best bet. I'm only 9" taller than my pool walls, so I can't get it too far into the pool pouring it over the side. I do make sure I pour it slowly and not all at one time so it has a chance to move through the water. I always make sure the pump is...

    Water bleaching my liner

Richard, I thought the same thing about the bleaching on the bottom, except it is in the middle of the pool. Something was definitely sitting there for a while, just haven't figured out what. I mean, what are the chances of being able to dump an entire bag of shock into the middle of a 21'...

    Water bleaching my liner

I have been using it since I started my algae odyssey about 2 1/2 weeks ago. The fading goes all the way around. We were using the line that was mid-skimmer level as a water line marker. I have added it all the way around the sides and also through the skimmer. I have been adding it through...

    Water bleaching my liner

It isn't age because the pool is only 2 years old. I don't know what the previous owner did, but there are a couple huge bleached out spots on the bottom. They are almost white. The bleaching around the sides is definitely new. We thought the previous "water line" on the liner at normal...

    Water bleaching my liner

We had a pouring rain all day on Monday. The water level in the pool got up to the top of the skimmer. On Tuesday evening I tested the water and this is what I got: FC- 1.5 CC- .5 TA- 100 CYA- 20 ish (black dot did not completely disappear) I raised the CL to 3ppm. Didn't get a chance to...

    Major revision to Pool Calculator

I don't know if this is something you would consider, but it would be nice if it could backward solve too or solve for any field. For example, being a pool newbie, I wanted to know how much my FC ppm should go up if I added a certain amount, say 1/2 gallon, of 12.5% liquid CL. Sometimes it is...

Ok, that sounds simple enough. Thanks a bunch. I'm going to order it. I hope it works.

Anyone use the Liquidator on an AGP?

I have read the limited information and spoken to someone at HASA about it. It sounds good, but I was wondering if anyone has tried it on an AGP? The guy at Hasa said to use 2 check valves and install the unit between the pump and the filter. I don't see how I could do that since they are...

    I can see the bottom!

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for helping me with my algae problem. After countless vacuums, shocking and barely there pool patience, we now have clear, blue water. Too bad it is now pouring down rain..sigh.. We are still trying to get our readings in line, pH a little low and CYA...

Vaccuming to waste without a vaccum to waste option

Thanks for digging this up! I have been trying to figure out how to do it since we still have a lot of gunk to get out of our pool.
