    new guy

Does the township have another alternative to the auto/self-closing gate? I know mine is pool fenced in or locking ladder. Maybe if you install a locking ladder that would be ok since you already have the yard fenced in. Check with them to see if that is acceptable.

New Liner? Do I have to?

The 3 of the 4 would be correct. That is one of the reasons you should not completely drain a vinyl liner pool. It probably will not stretch back to the size it needs to. The liner becomes less pliable if it dries out.

    You're absolutely right. I think I am still confused.....LOL.

    Pool wall is bowing out

Glad to hear you got the problem solved. As far as the water goes, make sure you get some metal sequestrant in the water before you add your CL. There was another thread recently about metals and well water. I will see if I can find it. Found it: brown-water-yikes-t8029.html

Our backyard pics- Before and After

Thanks, for the kind words all!.... :-D Sitting out in the backyard sipping a glass of wine is one of my favorite activities. Now I do it with a smile on my face. :-D And this is the first year we have been able to enjoy the pool since buying the house in '06. I found TFP last summer...

    trouble maintaining levels, (pool noob)

Hello and welcome! You probably have a stabilizer/CYA level of 0. That is why your CL levels are dropping daily. The CL stick that you are using I am not familiar with, but if it is anything like the pucks that are used in a floater or automatic chlorinator, eventually, they are going to...

    Pool wall is bowing out

I'm not a pro, but how is the liner sitting? Is it flush against the walls or is there still some room between the wall and liner?

new to the forum, checking in with a few questions

Just a suggestion, waste, that green color is hard to see. It might help to change that to a darker color.

    Completely LOST!

Hi and welcome to TFP! I'm a little confused. Are you saying that your normal pressure is 15psi and right now it is only running at 4psi? If so, you need to clean your cartridge. You will have to clean it often during the conversion. You will want to hold off on using the new cartridge...

Our backyard pics- Before and After

We recently had our backyard landscaped, so I thought I would share a few photos. I am glad to have it done because I hated the gravel/dirt that surrounded the pool. It made it unpleasant to use and hard to keep the yard clean. Not to mention, it was downright ugly. We still have...

Do we need a pad under steps in AG?

My steps are 2ft wide and I made the mistake of having it cut 2ft wide. It wasn't wide enough to go under the feet on the stairs on both sides. I would suggest measuring the width of the stairs/ladder and giving yourself another 6"-12".

    Liquidator "WS" Poll

Actually, that's backwards. It is not required if the LQ is above water level. The best I could do was to partially close the skimmer valve. That got me up to 3.5. With the valve fully open I get no flow.

Pool leak......and now I need help

No, they usually don't. There is a previous thread that gives a technique for getting wrinkles out. Just do a search on wrinkles to find a few.

    Liquidator "WS" Poll

No, it doesn't. That is as high as it would go since installation. My problem is that my pump is too close to the pool. No resistance. Common with AGP's.

Do we need a pad under steps in AG?

Most of us do to protect the liner from tears. You don't have to purchase a pad, though. Go to the plumbing section of HD or Lowes and have them cut you a piece of the rubber liner used to line showers. Should cost you less than $10.

    Liquidator "WS" Poll

I have cloudy tubes, but no WS that is affecting the LQ. I switched from 6%-12% because I can only get the flow up to 3.5 and the 6% wasn't feeding enough CL.

    Converting from Chlorine to Baquacil?

Just an FYI, it is a Saltwater Chlorine Generator, not Converter. It does not convert chlorine, it generates it. You still have chlorine in your pool, it's just the salt makes the water feel different.

    Whats behind the name?

Heatmiser was one my line names when I pledged in college. Heatmiser is also actually one of my favorite characters. Don't know if anyone remembers the Christmas specials that used to come on every year with the puppet-like characters, but one of them is The Year Without a Santa Claus...

Please help me compare these two colors...

I like the Dark Sand Buff. The Burly Wood looks a little washed out to me. Also, if your concern is staining, the darker color would be better.

    My new pool!

Re: My new pool? Hi Kristy, Welcome to TFP! I don't have an inground pool, but I ran across a thread on another forum where members listed things they wish they had done, or not done, as the case may be. A couple of the things mentioned were the depth of the tanning shelf, contract...

I don't know if you ordered yet, but leslie's carrys them. Here is the link to the stores in your area. They cost a little more, $150, but I guess that is about how much you would pay with the expedited shipping. http://leslies.know-where.com/leslies/c ... on=AZ%2CUS

Can you add salt to a pool

Re: Can you add salt.... I don't remember if I read it here or somewhere else, but I remember a poster saying that her toenail polish always chipped when she got in her friend's salt pool. Ladies, has anyone else experienced that problem with nail polish?

Liquidator for AGP dose it work good?

I reposted the pictures in the above thread. Something changed during the upgrade and pictures are no longer viewable. I will post a picture of my actual set up later today or tomorrow. One problem is getting the flow up high enough. I can only get mine up to about 3.5 and that is with the...

Beware of the Law of Unintended Consequences.....Glowbuoy

Not a hijack at all, lulu. I understand about the coving, too. Mine seems to be "missing" in some spots. If for no other reason, this is why I would recommend to spend the extra money on happy bottom. The light works beautifully, but the dips and craters are a distraction.
