Turned off my SWG, went BBB, wife said OMG

We've been fortunate that our pool water has nearly always looked good, thanks to the TFP forum and Taylor's test kit. The other day we were shopping at our military exchange and they were having a great sale on Clorox bleach. I've been wanting to try the BBB so I picked up several bottles of...

Is there such a thing as a bug light for a pool?

Instead of using our pool light, we have an LED color changing spotlight mounted under our sunroom eaves and projecting out onto the pool. It also has a remote. Think I got in on ebay. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/52167 ... light.html

High FC and TC: Is this a problem?

Guess I'll just set my timer to run the SWG for 8 hours instead of 10 and see what happens. I think I still need to run the pump for 10 hours since I run it at such a low rpm. Not wanting to invest in an automation system at this time...Thanks for all the comments.

High FC and TC: Is this a problem?

I have a new variable speed pump (which I love due to drastic improvement in electric bills) and I run it for ten hours at 1500rpm. I also have my SWG on for ten hours and it is set at 20%. I always have high FC (usually 10-15). All other tests are normal and my water is crystal clear. I can...

Our first pool... 41' Mountain Lake [FINAL PICS ADDED]

Re: Our first pool... 41' Mountain Lake, Solar panels Pool pics look great, always fun to see work in progress...just curious why you didn't choose a variable speed pump, since it looks like you're doing this pool so nicely.

Booster pump, filter, Legend hose blowing off

I had a similar problem with my Legend blowing off and replaced the wall fitting pressure relief valve (the part that goes into the wall fitting) for about $30. Solved that problem.

Purchased a "new" IC40 and received a cell produced in 2008

Re: Purchased a "new" IC40 and received a cell produced in 2 My original IC40 salt cell, also manufactured in 2008, failed in just under three years. Fortunately, I had a three-year warranty on mine because my PB used all Pentair when he built the pool. Pentair replaced the cell and I now...

Here in the Florida panhandle, we get about the same weather as New Orleans....my pool temp is still in the 60's, and for me, that's still too cold. Hope y'all enjoy your trip. :-D

Teflon tape or pipe thread sealant?

I'm getting ready to swap out my pump to the Pentair V/S pump. The new pump has female threads at both in and out ports, so I have to use male adapters. I was going to use teflon tape on the male adapters inlet and outlet ports but the owners' manual/installation instructions says to use...

Difficult to replace a pump with a variable speed pump?

Changing pump to VS pump (need a little more help please) OK, Well, I removed my old single speed Pentair pump. When I went to put in my new Pentair (011018) VS pump, I realized that the new pump only has threads on the inside of the pump intake and outflows (female fittings). My old pump had...

    Intellichlor Cell Status Light?

If your cell light is out, it's not making chlorine. This is pretty normal when your water temp gets below about 60 degrees. Many people recommend you just use chlorine in the off-season.

Difficult to replace a pump with a variable speed pump?

Awesome advice, I'm ordering the Intelliflo today and plan on installing myself, thanks to your advice. I do have a salt system installed and it's only on when my pump is on. I have one question: My side suction cleaner (Legend) runs off its own booster pump. Does having a variable pump...

Difficult to replace a pump with a variable speed pump?

Hello, my electric company is offering $600 rebate to pool owners who change their single speed pumps to certain variable speed pumps. Seems like a no-brainer. I've seen the Pentair Variable speed pump for under $900 online. My pool guy has quoted me $1500 for the pump and installation...

    Intellichlor IW40 - No Flow

I had a similar problem with "no flow" on the IC40. I checked the salt cell and mine too was clean and clear. I noticed that my water level had dropped a few inches. Added enough water to return it to a level above the middle of the skimmer. Problem went away.
