    Thermowell Issue

I've just learned something. I believe my Spa may be made by Baker-Hydro, which might be a division of Waterco? Did a company called Baker-Hydro ever make hot tubs? I read this on a Craiglist Ad: http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/for/975953465.html Thanks, Adam

    Thermowell Issue

Here's the situation, my spa is going to be about 30 ft. from where my Spa pack and controls will be. The problem is the cord for the temp. bulb is only about 6 ft. long. This means that my thermowell and temp sensor will be 30 ft. from the spa in part of the plumbing. I don't think this is...

Hot Tub losing prime after 30-40 minutes?

Yes, you should have venturi air coming out of the jets and those knobs you are refering to are probably to control that air. The Air Buttons they are probably talking about are used to control the blower motor and sometimes the pump. It's an alternative to having electric buttons right by the...

Hot Tub losing prime after 30-40 minutes?

Usually the vent is for an air intake for the jets. If you don't use an air blower and still have bubbles coming out then you have venturi jets. This Should be sucking air all the time when the jets are producing bubbles. When the pump has full prime the water entering the venturi woudn't have...

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Ratings

Interesting link, thanks for posting! You mentioned that the tri-chlor will cause nearby metal to rust. Is this also the case with vented bottles of 12% liquid chlorine? I'm wondering because I store mine in a shed with snowblowers and lawn equip. and I don't want it causing any problems...

Now I am putting my nose to work..

Wow, you have strict clarity standards, but it definitely pays off! That water is Beautiful! It's so clear and sparkly. If you don't mind, could you snap a pic of your entire pool? It looks interesting based on the closeups I've seen. Glad you have everything back balanced again, Adam

Hot Tub losing prime after 30-40 minutes?

The gurgling is probably just the air ilnets for venturi jets. This is on the return side and shouldn't be the cause of your problem. Have you checked to make sure your pump stainer lid is not what's letting the air in? Does the water level in the spa stay the same? HTH, Adam

    Pump and Cleaner wiring diagram

Sounds a lot like what I'm planning to do, but better. I was just going to use 2 analog timers for my two pumps(spa and pool). The Greenhouse timer is a brilliant idea, I might copy that! Then I won't worry about my spa pipes freezing at night. P.S. The schematic isn't showing up for me, nor...

    Did anyone happen to see....

I just caught it when they started talking about not using chlorine. Didn't hear why though. I think those people were "Pool Stored" :hammer: Ehh, they'll be here in a few months... "My pool won't stay clear. I have an Ion system and they told me that was all I needed. Also saw another...

    Should I hire someone else?

In your sig. you mention waiting for permits. If that's the case, it may not be the PB's fault so much as the cities. Good luck and Welcome to the forum, Adam

    Who's still here? part II

    Christmas trees.

You know it IS possible that there is a short or some sort of problem with the Christmas lights... LOL. I'd try pluggin something else in that uses about the same amount of power as the lights. If that trips it, then back outlet. If not, bad lights. Remeber, start with the cheap solutions then...

    Do NOT use trichlor

Now, if there had been a bottle of bleach next to the Bucket, there wouldn't have been a problem and the investigators would have just moved on. AND we would know for sure that a writer also writes here. Adam

    Who's still here? part II

I'm still here, I check in almost daily. Cept yesterday cuz I was busy clearing the white stuff from five peoples driveways... Made $85.00 though. Not hard when all you have to do is walk behind a snowblower. :whip: This was the snow that closed school here and started my Crhistmas Break a day...

    Freezing and a 2-speed/1hp pump

Nice job with the plumbing. Bet that Flex was expensive though. At least now you never have to worry about a line tearing open. Happened to me this summer. :( BTW, I've never seen a pump like that. Is that the actual pump or is that some type of case with a removable pump inside? Adam

    Jandy Cart filter

That's what Science says, but in the real world that's often not the case. I'm speaking from Sand filters here but I think it still applies. My pump pushes about 30 GPM with solar on and noticably more with it off, maybe like 40GPM? but I never measured with it off. Anyway, starting pressure...

    New Snowmobile

WOW, beautiful rig you have there! I've got to get me something like that. MP3 Anyone? HELP!

I feel I can chime in here. :P I have personally owned both a Sandisk(old model) and a Samsung Yp-P2. The Sandisk is a great little player and the new Sansas are even better. I was actually going to buy one until I started looking and found the Yp-P2. I love love love the touch screen, the...

    Hayward SwimClear Drain Plug issues

Hmm, never seen a pressure guage with two hand on a filter before. When the pump is off do they both go to zero? I'm going to guess that the blue hand is the current reading and the red is the max pressure the gauge has been to. 29 psi operating pressure seems a little high but it might be...

    Hayward SwimClear Drain Plug issues

What's the PSI reading on the filter pressure gauge? If it's high you may need to clean the carts. This may also be the cause of the leaking and broken drain plug. P.S. try some teflon tape or teflon putty on that drain plug. HTH, Adam

Pool Vacuum -- how to use?

Just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if it'd be possible to hook a garden hose to one of your returns to use the leaf vac. Then you wouldn't have to add more(cold) water to the pool everytime you vacuum. If it were me, I'd wear a long Rain/trench coat like thing to stay dry. You could also...

Is a Solar Bear heater worth the money?

I'm not sure what Solar Bear panels cost, but I think the 2x20 ones were about $120.00 at my local pool store. I went on eBay and bought two Sungrabber panels from an online pool store that sells on eBay. With shipping they only cost $160.00. The Solar Bear panels advertise that you can control...
