Well, like this evening Thank you for making that clear. I added just a little too much liquid chlorine earlier 😬. I will just follow that FC/CYA chart you mentioned ealier.

high CYA (80) and liquid chlorine level...

Hi. I saw another chart on TFP (maybe someone had posted it on another post) where it has that chart, but it also also included the recommended level for yellow algae. Should I not bring it up that high unless I see yellow algae?

Should I add Muratic Acidto decrease pH?

Thank you. Aeration cause the pH room rise right? Maybe less water features on?

high CYA (80) and liquid chlorine level...

Temp: 81° FC: 8 CYA:75-80 pH: 7.8 TA: 70 CH: 390 I've been wondering if I should add enough Liquid Chlorine (base on CYA level) to raise to FC Level to prevent yellow mustard algae or is it okay to just add enough liquid chlorine to be in the minimum-maximum level?

Should I add Muratic Acidto decrease pH?

Calcium Hardness was at 390 two days ago. CSI according to Pool Math app is 0.06. So, that sounds good. I guess I'll just leave pH as is. pH has been going up so I was nervous that it will keep on going up.

Should I add Muratic Acidto decrease pH?

👋 Temp: 81° FC: 8 CYA:75-80 pH: 7.8 TA: 70 I just added 44oz of 12.5% of liquid chlorine to raise FC to 12ppm. I'm curious if I should add Muratic Acid to lower my pH? I wouldn't want muratic acid to lower my TA since it is in a good range right?

    Need help with CYA level

Oh yes I agree, too and it is quite an old article. I can't help but have that tiny thought in my head asking what if it does since it was brought up by different sources. I respect all of your experiences and advises on here. I'm going to monitor it and see the trend this winter to see how...

    Need help with CYA level

I've ran across a couple of articles regarding CYA on plaster. Have you seen this one? https://www.pulsarsystems.net/effects-of-cya.html?locale=en I also saw it mentioned on www.swimuniversity.com

    Need help with CYA level

Yes, I really like where my Calcium was at. Will that amount raise calcium hardness up a lot? Is that easier to reduced if high?

    Need help with CYA level

I know you said CYA is in the water, not sticking to plasters, but because I told him I did the water exchange and it had brought it down. He told me CYA will creep up because it's also sticks to plasters, and by a month it will be where it was 😯 that made me so nervous...would someone...

    Need help with CYA level

I've attached two pictures that he texted me, but when the tech added it to the pool, I only saw the powder and not the box.

    Need help with CYA level

Thank you, HermanTX. Ok, please don't judge too harshly as you read this keep in mind that I have not taken care of my pool myself before I'm just nervous to start. I'm just learning, so I still have a pool tech maintained the pool since pool was built. He came by today and he took two tests...

    Need help with CYA level

Another question.... If I decided to keep on just adding liquid chlorine into the pool and not use any tablets, do I need to do a test for everything else, too, everytime I check for FC level?

I haven't gotten the chance to learn iAqualink yet. I'm not sure where to start. I may need to find the manual or is there a place where I can learn about setting variable speed on iAqualink? I can attach a few screenshot of what I got.

Does Chlorine raise pH level? I will leave mine as is if it doesn't make much difference in raising the pH. How do I view your signature? I haven't been able to view anyone's signature. If the CYA level is from TFP then yes, I got mine saved so I can go back to adjust as necessary. I read...

Testing and balancing water or backwashing first

I just did another test and here are the results... Temp: 77° pH: 7.8 FC: 4.8 TA: 80 CYA: 75 How long should I wait in between before adding the second (muratic acid) to lower pH? Thanks :)

I dont understand the high RPM. Where to I check it and change that? I haven't really want to change any numbers in my iAqualink app that were set by the pool builder.
