    Led lighting question.

I used these in my pool for the microbrites. It has a ring to pack plaster in to help with sealing. I was not a fan of the white flanged fitting. The plaster will come all the way to the top and light screws in. Not even noticeable. Now to go from 2" to 1 1/2" there is probably a PVC...

Hopefully someone will be along soon that is experienced with deciphering all types pool plumbing. Unless I can turn valves and see what they do, I'm not much help.

    Return line leak

All returns are probably tied to one valve. Turning one off might turn them all off. Can you post some pics of the equipment? That might help someone help you better. Do you have a spa? A co-worker currently has a return line leak. Until he can get it fixed he has the valve turned to the...

Fence questions for new pools - Lawyer types needed!

Let me go back to my college electrical coarse. My instructor liked to say...... It's the amps that kill you, not the volts. Back to the fence to beat a dead horse. I bet the neighbor put that fence up on a budget and it was to code. All the planks are on your side so you supposedly can't...

Fence questions for new pools - Lawyer types needed!

That's what I meant That's what I was referring too in my post. Make both sides smooth. At another house I had, I had the fence alternating at ever panel. I just bought cedar fence pickets and filled in the missing space. Looked nicer and didn't break the bank. The down side is it is on...

Fence questions for new pools - Lawyer types needed!

Not a lawyer type but we have similar laws. Is this a new pool build? From your description it sounds like you have a shared wood panel fence with vertical panels on your side, and supports on the neighbors? Do you have a good relation ship with the neighbor? Perhaps adding vertical panels on...

We are helping a friend out with a conversion

I'm no help but just had to say hi and love the pool. I have seen several like it just not as big in the back country. I call them hippy pools. Non permitted builds I'm sure.

Optimal piping for intake and return to spa jets

Are you asking about a pour-a-lid? I think Paralevel has them. I have never used one, so no help there. I have a Poolmiser and quartzite coping. I cut a piece of the stone to use in place of the plastic lid.

    New Pool Build in SoCal

I had a business owner tell me once has 40 years experience and he would have never done that and it wasn't his fault. I said you may have 40 years experience, but the kid you had do the job started last week. Now the guy doing your pool, he is probably only as good as his subs.

Solar not coming on with Easy Touch

Do you have two sensors for the solar? One for water temp and one that detects temp but it's purpose is it wont turn the solar on at night or if cloudy. Perhaps it is in a shaded area and needs to be moved or is faulty. My equipment has three sensors in total. One for air temp, one for water...

The exposed pool wall can be buttered up with plaster/stucco compound and the gap filled for a nice finish. .

Solar not coming on with Easy Touch

You stated that manual heat is off, but do you have solar heat activated? If I remember correctly, the actuator should be connected to Valve A or B on the mother board. One labeled for Solar. Perhaps the fact you said it is on AUX 18/18 is confusing me. You should also have a second sensor...

    New pool, who dis?

I guess it depends on what water district you are in. I think I paid less than $100 to fill 15,000 gallons in April of 2020. I'm in the Padre Dam water district. I braced for impact and when I got the bill I was actually surprised.

    New Pool Build in SoCal

At least we should not get any real heavy rains. Right now it seams hard to schedule one sub right after another. They are all so busy they schedule it when they can. If the pool company waits to try and line everything up together, they would probably be out $$$$. The neighbors had a hole...

    New Pool Build in SoCal

A friend is going through the same with his pool. He is doing it without a pool company (Owner Builder), so we know first hand the trades involved are very busy. It took him about three months for the county of San Diego to issue his permit. The excavator was booked for two months but appears...

    New pool, who dis?

You are off to a great start. You fired the pool guy! Listen to the experts and you will have TFP in no time. In SD, generally, floating a pool is not an issue. Unless you have pool on the beach. If your comfortable draining it, that's where I would start.

    Hi from SoCal

Salt generator is the best thing ever. Highly recommended. If you want to save $ and take care of your pool and do it as easy as possible, A salt generator is the way to go. Read Marty's recommendations and you will be in good hands.

    A Major Thank You

I'm not a social media person. I found this site when we decided to build a pool at our current home. I remember we loved our last pool but hated taking care of it. I was always struggling with algae. I knew I was getting bad advise and spending a lot of money at the pool store. During...

HELP, was our skimmer set too low.

It looks like they left the skimmer low on purpose to hide it so only the coping would be visible and give you a clean straight line. Just wondering if that is correct and if it was built as discussed? Was there a reason why they put the skimmer in that location? Prevailing winds? At this...

HELP, was our skimmer set too low.

I hope your builder finds a solution to this mistake. From looking at your pics and no-one here being on sight to look at it, I see a couple possibilities to what occurred. 1) The coping was unknown prior to the pool shell/skimmer being set or it was changed after. The bond beam...

    New Pool Build in SoCal

You definitely get hit with surprises when the excavation is done. Who knew that drain line went right through the middle of the pool! I did a lot of my own digging and rerouting of drainage after excavation. I expected it to a point, as I knew with the pool and decking, I would be adding...

    C-19 Vaccine-I got one

It is probably not paint but a wrap. Maybe glitter applied on top. Simply peel the wrap and the paint is unharmed underneath. It is gaining popularity in the custom car world. I have seen some chrome ones around my parts. So put it on the Camaro and peel off when done with the fun.

Waterline Tile - Did I Make a Bad Choice?

Maybe I can help you get more eyes on your thread/question. Colors are such a personal choice, its a hard question to answer. With a Roman shaped pool, I'm sure you want something not to crazy and eye popping. Perhaps posting a pic of your coping and anything else that's around the pool will...

    Pool leaking into street

I would test the water at the street first to make sure it is from your pool. If it is, do you have an over flow that is plumbed into your yard drains perhaps?

    Raised bond beam veneer options

I water proofed mine although you will get varying opinions on that. The plaster should be water proof. I have seen water leach through exposed walls though plaster, so I did water proof it. As far as your bonding wire goes, ideally it would have been attached at ground level. You will...
