    You mentioned debris in the bottom, are you confident it is all out, or as much as you can get. The large organics left in the pool will slow your process down. Get out as much as you can if you haven't done so already.

    Thanks, The panel will be on the ground, I won't have to add for water column. Normal pressure on the filter is 20 psi so I think I am splitting a fine hair here. Just want to make sure I get max flow without bursting the panel/ causing leaks etc. Mike

    I'm installing a solar panel and the manufacturer recommends a maximum pressure of 21 psi for the panel. i will have a home made pvc 3 valve diverter rather than a 3-way valve for the system and am not sure if the pressure gauge should be placed on the feed line or the return line for the panel...

    Overall it's 12 x 6. I did work the angle for the cutout around the pool and modified the step opening to make sure the stairs landed on the existing deck. I can send you the plans and material calculator that I used if interested, just pm me an email address. The plans are a .pdf file. Mike

    Added a pool deck to the existing lower deck just for access. I kept below the top ledge just a bit for maintenance and winter cover etc. same as Casey. I did skirt the bottom of the new deck with a frame and lattice.

    Pillow under winter cover

    I have been told by my Brother in Law that he uses a truck tire tube and adds an exercise ball in the center of it. I'm going to try it this winter myself.

    Filling the pool

    We filled with the well, bypassed the softener and dealt with the iron by adding a sequestrant. Then added 1 lb of shock and several oz. of clarifier.
