Need to get rid of pool equipment (heater, filter, pump)

Hope it is ok to post this here. We do not have a pool anymore and need to get rid of all this equipment. Anyone have an idea of what a good price would be and where we should post? We are in the Tulsa area. Anyone interested in the Tulsa area is welcome to look at as well. Thanks.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

These are the two lights. The spa light seems to have some residue at the bottom. Not sure if it is algae. (If algae, not sure how we are passing OCLT though). This year has been painful pool year so far :(. Are these easy to remove and clean by ourselves?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Seeing something brown at the bottom of light on the inside. Passed OCLT though, so not sure what that could be. Is this something easy to remove and check?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

It is possible, with the rains we have had as well.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Lost 3.5ppm last two days (both cloudy days). Seems a bit excessive so early on, with no one using the pool. Any suggestions? The only thing that we didn't do yet is to check the light. We passed oclt a couple of times and ended slam on Sunday. Should we add CYA. I am suspecting it to be 40...

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Thank you. The whole reason for considering CYA increase was because of the 5 to 6ppm loss daily, passing the OCLT. But then, out of nowhere saw visible green algae and have been slamming since Sunday. There is not much sun in forecast for the next 10 days to test CYA. Should the sun be...

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Passed SLAM. :giggle::giggle:. Two tests. CC was 0. Next felt a light pink tinge. So calling that .5. Either it actually reduced or washing the vial with bleach did it. Thank you. Do I wait for FC to go down to add CYA?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

SLAM novice. Sorry for the many questions. If I am already registering a CC > 0.5 at night, is there any point in doing OCLT since one of the slam criteria will fail anyway? (I am assuming CC is not going to go away at night.)

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Thanks. Will CC usually clear with no sun? Just trying to understand. Will search the forum/school as well.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Thank you. Should I let chlorine levels drift down?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

First SLAM ever.. Pool has been at shock level the past 3 days. Crystal clear water, no visible algae,, brushed Monday and Tuesday but was getting a CC of 1. First OCLT last night. Last night. FC. 17, CC 1 Morning. FC. 19, CC 1 I did it twice this morning and it was 19. User error...

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Thanks. I am assuming, I should continue SLAM until CC is at .5 and then do OCLT. Is this right?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Day 2 of SLAM. FC has been at 20 and did 3 additions yesterday and 3 today. There was a drop of 5 ppm between the tests today. A bad time for the speed stir to stop working :(. Doing the test with 5ml sample for now. Water was crystal clear to begin with. I haven't done the OCLT yet, because I...

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

I am now wondering if we did a proper SLAM the first time around. We brought it to shock level and the pump ran continuously for 2 days. Water cleared up. Did not test until the water cleared out. Passed OCLT. Should we be testing a few hours after bringing to shock level and bring it up shock...

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

I am surprised that we passed OCLT. To be on the the safer side, going to consider a CYA of 50 (most likely 40) and bring Chlorine to 20. Anything else, I am missing? Thanks a bunch to everyone.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Just noticed light green spots on the stairs (it was brushed thoroughly before shocking last week). Water is clear and passing OCLT though. Does it call for SLAM?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Tested CYA. Dot was a strain to see at 40. Does it make the CYA 40? [The sun was playing peek a boo and not blasting hot, but still tested]

Should we do another SLAM? 🤔

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

I honestly do not know the accuracy, but I am the only one doing it every year and follow the same procedure.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

CYA to my knowledge did feel accurate. What is the number I should be at? Last August it was at 60. (Started off at 40, and brought it up to 60 over the course of 3 months) This March, it was at 50. Tested twice this month, 50.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Tested CYA few days ago. It is a cloudy day today and rain tomorrow. So, will test again when the sun comes out. I definately saw the dot at the 60 mark. 50 - was a bit of a strain. At 40 - definately gone to my eyes. So decided to keep it at 50. Am I doing it right?

How do we know if the filter needs deep cleaning? And how do we do it? We did back wash it yesterday.

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

there are lights and we brushed them. Is it possible to pass OCLT with algae still lurking somewhere?

Excessive Chlorine Usage (5 to 6 ppm per day)

Did the OCLT again. There was a 0.5 loss. CC was at 0.5. The usage yesterday was again at 5.5 ppm. :( I am planning to test the CYA again when there is enough sun. It would mostly be 50 or 60 (considering the way my eyes see.) -- Chlorine reagents are fresh. -- I tested after chlorine...
