    Pentair Mastertemp 250 Warranty

I have a Pentair Mastertemp 250 that is now entering it's 4th pool season. I went out last night to find the service light on and water leaking from underneath. I'm trying to find what the warranty is on it but all I can find is referencing some card I don't have. Does anyone have any idea...

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

Initially someone did yes. The water looks great. Crystal clear and tests right in the range on everything except TA which is running slightly high at 100.

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

What would it look like? Is it possible there is one outside/inside the heater?

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

I'm not sure about that but if I have one that would be a very good place to look. I'll have to look at it.

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

Good question. I'm not at home now but I believe when it's on speed "3" it's running at 2300 RPM but I would need to verify that. I hadn't thought of changing that part of the equation. As far as the flow goes I really can't detect much of a change in the flow when the pressure increases but...

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

Further update. So the pressure has been fine since Sunday as I stated. Thursday morning I went out and checked it before work and it was still at 21 where it had been hovering all week. Then by 4:00 my wife called and said the pressure was up over 24 and the no flow light on the salt...

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

Good question and no it's not. At the end of the day I'm happy it's running now but I'm frustrated that I can't figure out what I did to fix it.

Can a "dirty" salt cell impact filter pressure

So this might be a dumb question but I'm having a hard time understanding what's happening(happened). Last week the pressure in my filter tank was high enough that the flow light on the SWG came on. This is the same point and pressure I normally need to back flush so nothing seemed out of the...

    Cleaning Out DE Filter

So the pressure in my filter tank has been rising rapidly after a backwash. My "no flow" light comes on within 12 hours of backflushing and coincides with the pressure increase in my tank. I know about where the light normally comes on and needs to be back flushed but it usually takes a couple...

    TA Issue (I Believe)

I'm pretty new so maybe I'm just a little hypersensitive. The water is beautiful so maybe if it's broke don't fix it. I'm in Michigan.

    TA Issue (I Believe)

So I'm a little confused about the pool calculator. It seems to only tell me how to increase TA and not decrease it. Here are all my numbers: FC 4.25 PH 7.5 TA 110 to 120 CH 170 CYA 30 Salt 3800ppm Any help would be appreciated.

    Sacraficial Anode

The salt level last season was right where it needed to be given the test kit I purchased from this site although at this point I don't remember the actual number. - - - Updated - - - No I was just referring to the long list of issues we had with the electrician and if there were another issue...

    Sacraficial Anode

Thank you for the quick response. I'll have to look tonight but I'm fairly sure I don't have one of those in my system. The electrician my pool installer used was completely incompetent so it wouldn't surprise me if there was an issue there as a previous poster mentioned. If that was in fact...

    Sacraficial Anode

So, we had our pool partially installed fall 2012 then completed spring of 2013 and needless to say the process was a complete train wreck which I won't go into. However, by the end of the summer 2013 everything seemed to be running well and the had the pool closed for the winter. Now that...

    Snow Weight on Winter Cover

So we've had about 85 inches of snow so far in Michigan and approximately 36" of it is piled on my winter cover(inground). Should I be worried about the weight? Not sure if I should go out and try and pull some of the snow off or not. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Closing Anti-Freeze

Is there a specific type on anti-freeze I should use in the skimmer when closing my pool? I had it closed but the water rose and flooded the skimmer again so I need to pump all the water back down, drain the skimmer with my shop vac then put the anti-freeze back in. I'm just not sure what type...

    Frustrated

I feel your frustration. We started our project September 2012 and just got everything up and running in August 2013. Never in my life have I seen an industry so full of incompetence. My wife must have said 100 times what you said in your post. How do these guys stay in business? We just...

    Stainless Steel Stairs "rusting"?

We have a new pool installed this spring. A few weeks ago while swimming I noticed the ends of the steps on the ladder were discoloring or rusting. I asked the incompetent pool company that installed it about the issue and they said it had to do with the salt water. Salt water will rust the...

Just received the Loop Loc covers in the mail. It appears as though they will be pretty effective but we'll have to wait until spring to know for sure. Thanks for your help.

    Grooves and Markes from Cover

Last winter (my first winter) the springs from my winter cover wore the paint off my cove molding that goes around the pool. So what I had in the spring was a groove by most of the spring that worked through the paint down to the bare metal. I want to keep that from happening this winter. Any...

    DE Replacement After Backflush

I took it apart a week and a half ago and gave it a very good cleaning. I now have a good idea of what the clean pressure should be so knowing when to actually backflush should be a little more clear. As far as the age of our pool it's new this summer and the process with the installer has...

    DE Replacement After Backflush

That helps. It looks like we have a 36 so according to the book it takes 3.6 pounds of DE at startup or 57.6oz. To replace 80% would be 46oz. I have a 12 oz scoop so it would take just under 4 scoops after backflush. That seems to make sense to me now. HOWEVER, as I was looking for the...
