    Well, this should be interesting....

I will try to get some pics of it when I get back unless my wife can get it to scrape off or vacuum out between now and then. In the pics, it's just to the right of where the polaris attaches just to the right of the bend at the junction of the shallow and deep end. Irregularly shaped white...

Oh. One question. I have some stuff on the bottom that is NOT coming off with the brush or a scrubber I found in the shed. Any suggestions?

What's weird is my chlorine level has been holding VERY well. And I'm not having to Backwash much. I am hoping to see some more clarity in the morning. Otherwise, I'm worried about my filter.

Seems like each day one more stair is visible. Lost the leaf rake somewhere near the drain this afternoon and haven't been able to fish it out unfortunately. Polaris is kicking butt though. I have to go back to work Tuesday afternoon and won't be around to mess with it until the weekend...

Ok. I would thin clarity would start coming around. More blue. (Bottom of liner is a deep blue)

Fiberoptics had been pulled out of the illuminator, or "displaced". There was one big strand that looked viable. The adjacent smaller strand wasn't shiny, and didn't look good. The ends of the big one were glowing while the other ones were dark. Have the illuminator with color wheel working...

Ok. Thank you. The issue is the Polaris. I don't know if it just stirs up the algae and causes the foam or what, but that's where the foam seems to be originating from... To be more clear...the foam isn't there, then I put in the polaris and turn it on, and the water gets much cloudier and...

Foam has moved from deep to shallow end. Still pretty hazy. Will that eventually correct itself? Tried vacuuming this am and that vacuum is horrible. Will need to replace it. Good news is I didn't seem to stir up much junk so letting Polaris do it's thing. It seems to be aerating the...

OH....if anyone has any tips on what might be going on with my Fiberstars illuminator, I'm all ears. Ordered a new bulb and installed it today. Bulb lights up the box like a christmas tree...but from what I can tell, absolutely NO light is getting to the pool. ? Takers? FC is 13 after a...

Question. How often should CYA be checked? My FC is stayin up around 10 fairly well and cc appears to be less than 0.5. CYA continues to appear to be about 20.

Thanks. I saw the "not less than one hour or less than twice a day"....and wondered. Will let things settle down and then re-test. I've gone from pretty much nil to like 4 in 1.5 hours.

Approx. how long should one wait before expecting FC to rise? ie.....how many hours should you wait to test and figure out if you need more bleach?

I'm going to go to the bleach method to SLAM. I'm going to try to measure closely and figure out an accurate volume. The first time I calculated, I was over 40K gallons...the guy who works on pool says closer to 20-25. Confused is a good way to put it. Bleach isn't cheap either. :)

    Well, this should be interesting....

Ok. Still not totally sure what the volume is. Pool guy came by (he's an independent guy that broke off from pool stores). They dumped in 2 lbs of Dichlor (SmartShock) and circulated. Also added silk tab to each skimmer (2) and refilled the chlorinator. Still (not surprisingly) a green...

If we assume the "blocks" of the cover are approx. 3 feet wide, would anyone be willing to take a shot at estimating the volume assuming the deep end is a max of 9' deep and shallow is approx. 3' deep? Also, any thoughts on the safety fencing? Experiences? I will probably use up my chemicals...

Please bear with me. Had a guy come out to help us open and just show me how everything works. There is the usual stuff like skimmer net, leaf net/rake, brush, vacuum, then there is a Polaris. On opening day, we shocked with 2lbs of SmartShock and let it run for 2 days. Today, vacuumed to...

Moved into new to us house on May 2nd. Finally got settled in and the pollen surrounding the Lake of the Ozarks appears to be calming itself. Opened the pool today and it was as green and nasty as I'd imagined, complete with 3 toads, 2 lizards, and a smelly dead squirrel (thanks for not...
