    Polaris Truck Cleaner

From the photo, your front wheel drive treads appear to be worn away from the pebble tec. It may be as simple your Polaris is just spinning its wheels and getting no traction. They are easy to "rotate" your treads. Move the rear treads to the the front tires. While you are switching the...

Invest in Skimmer Socks! plsbcheap, From the looks of your yellow gunk in your filter you live in an area with a lot of Pine. You mentioned it was a heavy season for Pine Pollen this year. Trust me in Arkansas we have TON's of it. Purchase skimmer socks for your all your skimmer baskets and...

    Yellow Stairs

I use the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It does a great job on any of the white fiberglass and vinyl item in and around the pool. I have had no issue in using them. Try them, you'll like them! I would also like to know if there is any thing chemically that can be added to reduce the color change...

    Return eyeballs

I keep my three pointed just downward so that I don't break up the surface water and then pointed towards the nearest skimmer basket. This keeps a nice circular flow around the pool, drives debris to the skimmer baskets.

Pentair IC-40 Insuffient Flow Indicator Light Problem

It will eventually in 24-48hrs also reach a NO FLOW indication after 2400rpm, therfore requiring an increase in RPM to resolve the error light.

Pentair IC-40 Insuffient Flow Indicator Light Problem

What I am saying that by increasing the RPM, I am increasing the flow. For example, I start at 1700rpm, I have good flow. After about 24hrs the NO FLOW indicator on the SWG comes on. I then increase my pump speed to 2000rpm, and the indicator will go back to green (good flow). However, it...

Pentair IC-40 Insuffient Flow Indicator Light Problem

Pump strainer basket is cleaned everytime I backwash and is currently clear. I use skimmer socks and have even tried removing those to see if the flow is actually impeaded. My hypothesis is that with a clean SWG, clean skimmer & filter baskets, it must be the flow sensor that is giving the bad...

Pentair IC-40 Insuffient Flow Indicator Light Problem

I have an IC-40 SWG with a Intelliflo 4x160. Normal operating RPM is 1700, which gives me a turn or so a day on my 24,000 g pool. A recent anomaly has popped up. My low flow indicator light is coming on the IC-40, in turn stopping any clorine production. The only way to get the low flow...

    adding salt to pool

As a point of reference, I just added 200lbs of Morton Water Softner pellets (purchased at Sam's Club for $22.00 total). Added all 200lbs to the perimeter of deep end and all was dissolved in less than 1 hour in 45 degree water. I swept the pellets twice during the hour.

    Lazy Pentair Legend

For me the "Tail" does slow down in the winter months. When my water temp falls below 60 degrees, I notice a slow down in the tail action, but it is the result of the poly hose tail stiffening up from the cold water.

Who has easy touch wireless remote?

No problems here! Love my Easy Touch! Mine has never lost a connection. The only thing I have thought was odd, is that it will go through batteries fast. Typically I seem to need to change the batteries twice during the season, using alkaline batteries.

    Pentair Automation controllers....Whats the difference??????

Yes, the pump is programmable by itself, but the controllers purpose is to create an automated environment, scheduling, and operating your filtration, heating, pool and landscape lighting, sanitizing, waterfalls and fountains…all for convenience so you won't have to worry about them or...

    Pentair Automation controllers....Whats the difference??????

There are really two main controllers for easy automation the IntelliTouch & the Easy Touch. Both do basically the same and offer the same pool & spa remote control features. The IntelliTouch is needed if you are planning on the Intelliflo VF pump as it requires the IntelliTouch only. The...

    Pentair Intellichor Experience???

Have an Intellichlor that runs flawlessly. ktdave stated that his clean cell light comes on when the water temp goes below 50 degrees, this is just an indicator that the cell is not producing chlorine as it is not needed below this temp. Actually it is about 55 degrees that this feature kicks...

    Electricity usage

I can't tell you how much a variable speed pump can save on the electric budget! Using a Pentair Intelliflo 4 X 160 running @ 1700rpm for 11 hrs/day giving me one turn, my electric cost is about $10 extra per month. The upfront costs of the pump are high but the savings will pay for the pump...

    intellibrite versus colorlogic

I have two Intellebrites. One in the spa and one in my 40ft pool. I am extremely happy with my purchase. My favorite thing about these lights were the "shows" that it can perform. Love the constant change and the ability to change the mood with the flip of a switch. If you are look for...

    DE vs SAND Filters

Could you please clarify what constitues a "little" DE to your sand filter? What is the frequency? After each backwash cycle? I assume you are adding it through your closest skimmer basket to the filter? Do you find any DE making it back through the sand filter to the pool? Any cons such as...

    Spa/Pool One-Pump System w/Intelliflo

I have been using the Intelliflo 160 for the past 6 months. I have been more than adequately pleased. I don't know what you mean by diverting some of the flow, but what I have found it gives me exactly everything I need in terms of controlling flow in the pool, waterfall and spa with one pump...

Freeze Protection - Not all Circuit Types Working Properly

Detailed view of Pool/Spa Return plumbing To answer your question, when on normal, 100% of the return is to the pool. I have no check valve on the system, so the issue has been since Day 1 which is just been only since this past July. It didn't manifest itself until the cooler weather here in...

Freeze Protection - Not all Circuit Types Working Properly

The spa looses water ONLY during the frequent valve change (every 15 min) during the switch from pool to spa. I think I know where you are going on the problem, but I don't think there are no check valves on my system. In ground spa is only elevated about 12" above decking to create...

Freeze Protection - Not all Circuit Types Working Properly

IG Vinyl Pool/Spa with Pentair EasyTouch 8 Control System w/ IntelliFlow 160 pump. My question is on the cold evenings my freeze protection works perfectly at 35 degrees. During freezes, it switches between the pool and the spa every 15 minutes. What my concern is, the SPA seems to drain it's...
