    I found a drawing to answer my second question and will post it up for those who may have the same question as I regarding actual dimensions including supports. The more I look at other pool builds it seems a compact gravel base looks pretty sound?

    My plan for leveling the ground is to buy 4x6x10’s and make a 20x30 frame and fill it with 1/4- gravel. I’ll have the frame level and square and compact the gravel, the ground in the backyard is rock hard so I feel this would be solid enough for the pool weight and a clean look after pool is up...

    That’s a lot of bang for the buck for sure, thinking I’ll take a chance on the Intex. For the price, and if it lasts 3-5 years, will be worth it in entertainment value.

    Thanks for the info, can I ask how old your Intex pool is and if you have any problems with rust? - - - Updated - - - Thanks Mariane! You’ve had your pool up for 7years? That seems like a pretty good endorsement for Doughboy pools.

    After having an 18’ easyset pool the last 4 years we have decided to go bigger. We had planned to go with the Intex 16’x32’. Now that I read about all the recent rust issues I am hesitant and looking at other brands, but for $1200 might still be worth a shot? While brand is still up in the air...

    Intex Ultra Frame rusted out in one year

    This is concerning to me as well. We have been rocking an easy set 18’ the last 4 years. Best $300 we ever spent! We have plans to pour a pad in our back yard and instal the 18’x32’ Intex ultra but if they are all rusting out I’m not so sure? Is this just a random problem or all newer pools...
