Heater bypass with A&A in-floor cleaning system

Checking the psi at different popups is something I want to do more thoroughly. When I initially tested three different popups, I had trouble getting the device to even register. There are two different screw-on pieces for the device, one for low flow and one for high flow. I used one...

Heater bypass with A&A in-floor cleaning system

    1. I am interested in the type of valve you mention (and agree that having a slight flow through the heater could be a good thing). Would you post a photo or link to the type of valve you mentioned? 2. I was very surprised the psi difference with the Venturi skimmers was only 1psi. I have...

Heater bypass with A&A in-floor cleaning system

Yes, with the skimmer returns closed, the psi increased a tiny bit over 1psi at the popups. If it had been significant enough, I would reconsider the skimmer settings.

Heater bypass with A&A in-floor cleaning system

With this A&A system, the skimmers work by a venturi of water coming from the returns rather than using the suction lines. The skimmers actually work well with this setting, so this is taking some of the return psi away from the popups.

Heater bypass with A&A in-floor cleaning system

My pool/spa is 21 years old with an A&A in-floor cleaning system. I have often had issues with the pop-ups not fully popping-up. I replaced all popups after four or five years (which helped greatly). I am replaced two last July and will replace many of the others in the next month. My...

A Robot Cleaner to go with my pop-ups

I have installed a Flow Vis flow meter and have nine pop-ups I need to have A&A replace. I do NOT have a heater by-pass valve and believe that may be the issue causing the challenges I have faced over the last 21 years. I finally purchased an A&A system pressure device to measure each zone. I...

Does the pump size sound appropriate?

I'm in Dallas with an IFCS pool (21 years). I never got anything in writing about setting the valves for the skimmer in & out, etc and wish I had. When they come to orient you on the pool equipment, get something in writing about the settings. I have a love-hate relationship with my IFCS...

A&A in-deck Leaf Vac not repairable - replace or close it off ?

As Bama Rambler suggested, I placed a bead of marine-grade epoxy to the top of the guide. Later I realized a part for the internal portion of the Leaf Vac would work as additional reinforcement. I cut two ~3" sections from the Stop Ring and glued one above each of the two guides. The parts...

    Pentair Rainbow 320

I (Dallas, TX) have a 15K gallon pool and use the bottom feed from the 320 (w/3" tabs). My setting varies from 1.5 to 4.5 depending on temp, water temp, water test, etc... Considering the size of your pool, I would expect you can find settings using the top feed which will work.

A&A in-deck Leaf Vac not repairable - replace or close it off ?

I like this reply more than you know. I am embarrassed I did not think of it though. I have some epoxy on the way and will see how it works out. Thank you!

    New build in DeWitt, Arkansas

My builder incorrectly measured my backyard. When excavation began, the supervisor told me they could not shrink the pool but he could turn it slightly to fit the space better. It is just under 2.5 feet from one corner of the house and under 3 feet from an adjacent corner. (I have had no...

A&A in-deck Leaf Vac not repairable - replace or close it off ?

The lock bar which holds the lid in place for my Leaf Vac (A&A, in-deck) no longer stays in place. A&A has advised that the LV should be closed-off or replaced. I now know having the LV installed in the deck was a big mistake. My question: should I close-off the LV and let the debris* go to...
