    Ground Prep for Intex

My tarp is on top of the foam boards, under that is Gorilla pad, under that is compacted road base, or fines as they call them, leveled that and then put pavers under each leg.

    Ground Prep for Intex

Yes, don't use sand, it clearly says this in the install instructions..no sand base, it must be on level un-distrubed ground, or get the ground as level as possible and then use road base "fines" you can compact and level that and it will stay in place, then use poly styrene on top of that, then...

    My 18x52 Intex Ultra Build - Mods: skimmer, inlets,outlets, return-PVC Diagrams/Video

I plugged one of my returns with the black cap that came with the pool, I removed the screen and the small black hat covers the small nozzle underneath perfectly, then I screwed back on the screen and use the single return to hookup the Intex Skimmer, it made a huge difference in how much...

    My 18x52 Intex Ultra Build - Mods: skimmer, inlets,outlets, return-PVC Diagrams/Video

With the more powerful pump "Intex Pump and Sand Filter" this year I have been using the Intex over the side skimmer and found that it does a better job than the Hayward skimmer I had in my older pool. That in combination with the Intex Pool cleaner "which I leave in all the time now" I have had...

advise on -good Auto Vacuum for 22' Intex Pool

Please note the Intex pool cleaner does NOT hookup to the suction side, it is a pressure "return" side cleaner. I for one own both the Intex pool cleaner and the Aquabug cleaner, I do NOT like the Intex, the Aqubug does a much better job and it is a skimmer side cleaner.

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

Ok I ran the cleaner yesterday for about 4 hours, it did an OK job, I used it without the little nylon brushes on the bottom as I had some leaves I wanted to see if it picked up. Nope :( Going to run it again today, this time with the nylon brushes installed to see if it can pick up some of the...

    New and nervous!

Sorry, did not intent to add to your worry, just saying with the pool that close to a common fence, if something "were" to happen at least your liability would be covered. I would get that pool to within 1 inch of level, water is heavy and powerful. Mine was out two inches last year so I took...

I got the Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner

Try putting the bugger back on, it takes me 4-5 tries before it goes back on without crossthreading :( As for the cleaner... well it moves around the bottom of the pool I guess, I don't know if it picks up as well as it spreads stuff around.

    Pre-purchase questions - 1st AGP

I think you will like the 24" pool, I know we did when we had ours years ago, that thing was HUGE!

    Why does this method work?

Here is something fun to do. Fill your FC test vial with tap water and see what the amount of FC in tap water is, you will be surprised, yet we drink with it, cook with it, etc.

    Question about chlorine lock

Patience, like they say it took some time to get the pool out of balance, it will take time to get it back into balance, and lots and lots of bleach until the algae is killed off. I have been slamming for over two weeks "partially because I was lazy and did not keep the slam going till the end"...

Cloudy water-scale inside of pool walls

Update: FC-16 after adding 37oz bleach atsundown last night. FC 14.5 at sunrise this morning. Can see the bottom of the pool again, however not as clear as I like so I will continue to SLAM until OCLT is 1 or less and water is crystal clear. Sound Right?

    Pre-purchase questions - 1st AGP

Okay here goes: I have a 16" pool and wish I had gone bigger. Had a 24" AG years ago and it was huge. For me the sweet spot would be 21" I have heard good things about the Sharkline. If I could afford it I would go with Doughboy as they seem to last forever. "If you can afford them" Okay...

Sand or vermiculite as a base for an above ground pool?

Speaking from experience, a good excavator is worth their fees. That rent a laser level from HD or Lowes with a transit stick, place your pavers under the uprights and check the level as you go adjusting it. But again like I say, do a search on YouTube or go to a reputable above ground pool...

New filter, new pump, can't get pool to not be cloudy blue.

Stay away from the pool stores, follow the advice here "to the letter" read Pool School, focus on the SLAM first and follow it to conclusion and your water will be sparkly clear, I am currently doing a slam myself and got off track and did not keep my FC high enough so I speak from experience...

Sand or vermiculite as a base for an above ground pool?

I thought native soil was what you installed the outer frame onto with a true metal sided above ground pool, the center of the pool is then filled with X tons of sand spread out and forms a cove around the base for the floor of the pool. There are lots of great videos on Youtube about the...

Cloudy water-scale inside of pool walls

P.S. My PH jumped from 7.2 to 7.6 because my return fitting became exposed and was putting a lot of air into the water. I corrected the water level and the PH is now down to 7.4 and dropping. I have never had to add acid to my pool to lower it in the past.
