Need an advise from those with auto cover

well that's my fear as you really don't want any water potentially getting behind the tile and the water in most definitely splashing in there with those unfilled gaps... we've been swimming since early July and no problems so far, but I wouldn't really expect any immediate issues, my concerns...

Anyone Using a Mesh Winter Cover?

Very good and helpful thread. I'm in the process of buying a cover for my IG pool and definitely leaning towards a 99% no sunlight through micro mesh. I have one question though, since the water has to be drained below the waterline tile line to prevent any potential freezing damaging the tile...

    What's your current pool temp?

I hear you, and that's was my exact thoughts as well that's why initially I would keep the cover opened during the day, however, even with the hottest days in July with temps hitting 100's the warmest I've gotten the water was 91 with the open pool and now I can consistently keep the temps at...

    What's your current pool temp?

The cover is solid dark green (zodiac cover pools). At first (this is our first summer with the pool), we were only closing at night but keeping it opened during the day, I found that with the mild temps outside even with direct sunlight, it does not heat ip the pool as much as with the cover on...

Need an advise from those with auto cover

Hi All, So when my auto cover track was installed and subsequently everything else finished, plaster, grout, etc, one thing thing that was not done, it the line where the track sits on top of the tile is not 100% flush with the tile and has some spacing in some areas as it was never grouted or...

    HPI safety cover

Hey folks, trying to decide between and HPI and Loop Loc safety covers. Loop Loc is on average $400 more expensive than the HPI. The rep i'm talking to is swearing up and down that HPI is just as good as Loop Loc and they sell both (though I think they probably make more on the HPI covers). In...

    What's your current pool temp?

With a crappy cold summer, temps upper 70's low - mid 80's pretty much all August and into September, the pool stays at a constant 88-92 degrees, depending on how sunny it is outside. Spending on the auto cover and no the heater was the best decision we've made! Sent from my iPad using Tapawhat?

    Pool Build - Baltimore

I can 100% agree. Not too big on swimming when it's too cool outside, but just the point that with the cover you still Have that options without the heater is very nice, so all I was told before about the auto cover extending the swimming season is def. true. Bottom line heater not needed if...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

On heater vs the auto cover.... I would say the two don't have to be mutually exclusive, heater can still be a nice complement, but I'm at amazement on how awesome the auto cover is with keeping the warm temps and heating up the pool in cool sunny days. We've had a crazy cold August so far here...

Two weeks wait to swim after fill or wait more?

My builder told me two weeks after fill which will be in two days. Though I'm still a bit concerned as I'm reading some info suggesting a full 4 week wait. We did a normal start up with only sequestering agent being added. The chemistry is now in good order, pH still goes up everyday but I'm...

    ePool

So a little update. I've now had this epool up and running for several days and I can say its pretty Dang accurate. Both pH and FC are pretty much spot on to what get with my Taylor kit. By no means it replaces the usual testing, but I think it's a great addition to just see what your levels are...

    Retaning wall and patio lights!

Yea I've seen these led strips, they're pretty good. I'm actually thinking about putting a rope light under the cap for the entire length of the retaining wall. Just can't figure out what to use for clips since the typical plastic clips won't work with the stone retaining wall...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

Thank you for the answer and the tips. The pH finally down to 7.2 yesterday, all together took 4 gallons of acid. I know with the plaster curing the pH will be rising all season, but at least with it now being down to the manageable levels it will be easy to figure out how acid at add with acid...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

Love your thread! Such a beautiful work and attention to detail. I have one question. How long did it take for the pH levels to drop and how much muriatic acid you ended up using up after the initial water fill? It's been 5 days for me now and the pH levels are still off the charts, been luring...

    Also can not lower pH

Re: Can't get my PH to go down (Update) Ah! Well that explains it!!! Maybe my builder did tell me that, i just missed it. I suppose thats explains it why he left me 8 gallons of Muriatic acid! How much time (and acid) does it usually take for it to finally go down? Does brushing has anything...
