Wow! I left the forum on a page and came back and changes!

FWIW, the old look was verrrry slow scrolling on my machine. So much so, that I visited this site reluctantly, and if not for the good content, probably wouldn't have ever come back. The NEW look scrolls just fine. I like it. Using XP, with older IE 6.0. Steve who is happy when things...

    Chlorine output from SWG

I was thinking the exact same thing. Ooops, it was something else. Not that. Sorry.

    SteveNbr's pool build

We actually had workers show up yesterday.... started trinching for plumbing... Even came back today... finished wrecking form, ran all the pvc from the pool to the pad. Said something about someone coming tomorrow to finish plumbing to the pad. Coping/tile folks are supposedly about 2...

    Got GRAY ?? (plaster)

Still sweating the plaster selection here. I think we're trying to get that deep blue look that I usually see with dark gray, or even onyx plaster... but a "light" version. We think we need the "light" version (if possible) primarily because we live in south Louisiana and are very concerned...

    SteveNbr's pool build

Hmmm... my dig day was in Aprio of 199.... well, maybe not that long ago... Off hand, I don't remember the date they dug (although its documented in my checkbook), May 2, I think. They started digging on a Saturday, did gunite one week later on Monday... so on day 9. Since then, almost 3...

    SteveNbr's pool build

Thanks for asking... been pretty idle here for the last few weeks. Best I can tell, too much work for too few workers. They finally did show up today, wreck the form, and begin trinching for plumbing. I think 2-3 of them put in about 3 hours of work... maybe less. Maybe it will be enough...

How Many Different modes? (spa, filter, vacuum)

Thanks TheOne, Yesterday I downloaded the instruction manual for the Easytouch, and have a better understanding of the big picture now. A little fuzzy 36 hours later, but I was thinking that I might be able to do the deckjets even with the Easytouch-4. I'll print it out... and try to read it...

Compare different SWG manufacturers and products?

Thanks for the responses. You've piqued my interest... How big is the acid tank? Quantity, and dimensions? How does the AutoPilot compare price-wise with the IntelliChlor? Thanks!

    Mosquito control

I'm interested to hear how others handle this issue also. I was browsing ebay last night... did a search on mosquito... prretty wide variety of solutions... of course all claim to be THE BEST. Keep sharing!

Compare different SWG manufacturers and products?

I'd be interested to know what the AutoPilot does that the Intellichlor doesn't. I'd also be interested to hear how well the AutoPilot interfaces with the EasyTouch, or do they need to interface at all? Does the Intellichlor even interface with the Easytouch? Anyone know? Thanks, Steve

How Many Different modes? (spa, filter, vacuum)

Thanks guys for the info. I'm trying to figure out what things I probably will be wanting to do (first pool for me), how to do it, make sure that I optimizing my equipment purchases, and make sure my pb sets up (and plumbs things) best. You mentioned circuits on the EasyTouch. How many does...

How Many Different modes? (spa, filter, vacuum)

I'm just trying to figure out the different modes that I will want/need. I want to understand this as much as possible so I can make sure that I try to get what I want... rather than... well you know the other option. The variables that I know I get to deal with are: 4x160 pump, another...

Compare different SWG manufacturers and products?

This topic is somewhat discussed within another thread somewhere, but I thought it was certainly worthy of its own thread. We're in the midst of our build, and plan on using (most) all Pentair equipment, but I have no stock in Pentair (and even if I did, so what?), so I'm wide open to being...

Salt Water Systems - info please

Thanks for the comments on diff manfactures... In the pool build process right now, and am planning on using the Pentair 4x160 pump, the Pentair Easytouch, and hence, I figured to make everthing "work" best together, also plan to use the Pentair Intellichlor SWCG. Any feedback on this unit...

    Oops - pool is WARM

Leaving the heater on sounds like a common faux paux. As forgetful as I am, I'm thinking when I turn mine on (assuming that it's ultimately completed one day), that I'll have to create some kind of visual indicator that it's on... something complicated like a red cup sitting on top of the TV...

    SteveNbr's pool build

Well, thank yall. and you're right... no matter how much effort or money is put into a pool... it's nothing as good as those gifts from God that we call kids. I included that pic just in case you wanted to see the motive for the pool. She is cute... but truth is... she's 5x as cute on the...

    SteveNbr's pool build

Hi y'all are?? Near Baton Rouge, LA here, for those who might care... Thanks to SEAN for building this forum... not too many "good" pool forums around. Truly a need to be filled. Thank you, Sean!! I feel like I know a few of you already. I watched Sean's pool build on thepoolforum, but...
