New Salt Water Pool - pH Craziness

In addition to what ajw22 said, I just built my pool at the beginning of the year. It took about 3 months then all of the sudden the pH clicked into place. Really weird, but others have indicated the same. So just hang in there, it will eventually settle.

I don't think my pump is wired correctly either. I will have to look tomorrow when it's daylight. Ryan

    Recommendation for PH tester

    I have a PH20, he has the PH60. PH60 is accurate to within +/-0.01, PH20 is +/-0.1. I guess the 0.01 takes longer. Ryan

    Recommendation for PH tester

Since it is waterproof, I just stick it in the water to cover the measurement part of the probe and wait for the smiley face indicated it is done. Usually only takes about 5 seconds

    Recommendation for PH tester

Mine stabilizes in a few seconds and has a little smiley face when it locks in. Doesn't move after that. Ryan

    Concrete under pavers?

Mine have several inches of granite gravel that is packed down and then a couple inches of sand on top of that. I don't think you want concrete underneath them. Ryan

    Recommendation for PH tester

I use the Apera PH20. It was a little on the pricey side, but I wanted something that did well holding it's calibration. You need to buy a storage solution also to maintain the calibration for extended periods. I also got tired of playing guess the pH color.

    Natural Stone Paver Cleaning

We have natural stone pavers and I wanted to see what everyone else is using for disinfecting and cleaning? I assume a chlorine/water solution would be sufficient and not harm the pavers, but didn't know if I needed to purchase something special. If I use some of the 10% pool chlorine I have...

Chlorine or SWG Super Chlorinate to SLAM?

I have found using liquid chlorine the fastest way to boost levels after a party. I tried using SWG one time, but the level wasn't increasing fast enough for me to feel comfortable with it. 1 or 2 cups of 10% chlorine and that was all it took to boost it quickly and make the water clear again...

Our Pool Build, Please Comment on Equipment - Frisco TX - BYOP

Looks nice. I would consider a 6' tanning ledge just to give more swimming room, that tanning ledge is huge. You could make the spa and tanning ledge on the same end with the spa in the corner as JJ indicated, but how you have it is nice also. It's all your preference and if you like it go...

    Help with robot vacuums

I have a friend that uses a Dolphin Robot once a week and he has the pop-ups. Pretty sure he doesn't run them at the same time. The robot gets the areas the pop-ups can't and also collects the gravel/dirt that tends to fall on the bottom and not get pushed around by the pop-ups. Ryan

Need copy of Maytronics Dolphin warranty

This is for the M600 which has 36 month. Don't know if it is different for a 24 month, but I wouldn't think so except for the number of months. Had to scan it in, sorry.

    Intelliflo VS or VSF

I was running RPMs, but recently switched to flow. It's nice to have the option. But just fyi, my pump did not work well to have the system setup to switch modes for different settings. i.e. If you do RPM, do all RPM. If you do flow, do all flow. I just switched to flow on my main pump...

    Expansive clay soil construction questions

I just had mine built East of Dallas and spent many days concerned with the soil preparation decision. TF100 Box/Case?

I'm sure there is a better organization method, but this works for me. Of course I have the salt and Ph meter also in my arsenal. I really get tired of trying to guess colors.
