    I have a pool service route. After the Santa Ana's hit here in SoCal, the leaf master is the greatest tool ever invented, just my opinion.

    What do you mean by "hose". The Navigator uses 4' long pieces of hose, not just a single long hose.

    New Member Trying to Chase Down Lost Prime

    Hey neighbor! I'm late to the dance bit if a check valve flap us bad it will allow water to drain back to the pool regardless of any air leaks. The flapper kits are cheap and should be changed first to prevent a goose chase.

    Lots of broken ones. I just replace the flap. I suppose SS would work.

    spa box for in-ground install of standalone spa?

    Hi Darin. Yes, done this a couple of times, both times with cinder block. Keys: drainage is a must. Access to the electrical for repairs is also a must.

    Older Leisure Bay Spa needs some help heating up

    Several questions. What is the temp on the control panel, does it match water temp with a thermometer? Is your filter clean, that can cause the high.limit to trip and be a cause for low jet flow.

    It is common to fiberglass an existing leaking gunite pool?

    Hi Newpoo. I'm here in SoCal. It's not normal, but I have seen 3 pools that were fiberglassed, one was a commercial pool. They held up well. All these 3 were cracked gunite as well. I can't say yes or no to the procedure, but the ones I saw looked good.

    { HELP! } Spa pump/motor is suddenly Noisy (with video) { HELP! }

    Agree Pilotwerx. A new motor instead of a bearing job would be best. I was unsure about the noise.... Only because I have had that type of noise in a portable spa if something is pluging the impellor or a suction valve was blocked. Thirty years a spa tech, but I'm wrong sometimes. Re Lavaman...

    { HELP! } Spa pump/motor is suddenly Noisy (with video) { HELP! }

    Make sure that any shutoff valves are open and remove carefuly the filter cartridge and check it again. It dealt sounds more like an obstruction I'm the suction or return lines. Check those out. Bearing replacement in a pool or spa motor is a difficult job.

    Jandy CVA-24 Making a lot of noise and warm to the touch

    It could be the filter, or make sure the JVA is set correctly. You can adjust the turn radius both ways. These valves are sometimes adjusted to raise or lower flow from a spa to a pool.

    Main drain Leaks...

    Its ok to plug the main drain, the pol and a cleaner would make up for any suction issues. Anyway, the average pool in the US does not really have any suction from the main drain I would think that your main drain would have a 1 1/2 or 2" threaded suction hole. I threaded plug would work for that.

    Polaris Blower Motor Unseated

    Sometimes the blower will come loose because the pipe has slightly melted. Glue is not to be used. The answer is to fix the blower on to the pipe with screws, at least 4. That will keep it from blowing off.

    Landon Skim Filter

    I don't recall if those holes were threaded or not. If not you could use an expansion plug, or something like that. Actually you could make the drain work if you can use a piece of hose ie pool cleaner hose, and stick one end into your standpipe and the other end into the main drain hole. Of...

    Pool Light in winter. Am I overly concerned?

    Not gonna say this is the best method but I used to live in Pittsburg and we would wrap a brick with foam and duct tape and wrap it to the cord just above the light and sink it Always was ok, even with a vinyl liner. Used to work up in Vermont and the ice would get pretty thick and would crack...

    Landon Skim Filter

    I'm back AJ. Yeah, you live in LA. That's where I used to live. And worked on that filter! Here is what I remember. There were 2 holes. The part you no longer have, I guess is the vac plate. It was, hmmm. Some 15 or so in diameter? When you pushed it down over the grid assembly, it then...

    Leaking from filter

    Just a thought. When you put the top lid on, is it pushed all the way down? It's easy with that lid to pinch the o-ring and if the lid us not snug on, then it will leak and the lockring will not go on easily
  26. O

    Landon Skim Filter

    Yes, I know that filter. The hole in the side of the skimmer is to the main drain. You would make it work by the use of a vac plate that covered the area over the grid assembly. In the old days what we would do is remove the filter set and use pipe that would create a stand pipe from the hole...

    Humming Motor

    If you can spin the impellor freely, and have replaced the capacitor, then you probably need a new motor. I would assume a shirt in the winding is the issue.

    Hayward Pump leaks

    When you install the large tank o-ring, you need to make sure that the o-ring and the slots of the top and bottom filter parts are clean. Any debris there will make the area leak. Also.make sure the top is straight and totally flush at the joint where the o-ring is installed. Even a leaf will...

    Down east spa 2 pump system jets 2 not working

    Is the pump 110 or 220? Since black is line power and white is normally neutral, what is the voltage to the motor? That answer would help us. Also can you check voltage at the power source to the motor, ie contactor, relay, etc?
