I'm going to play my rookie card again! :oops: "Clear" means clear like water and not clear, no pink? I have a 1 drop difference between the point where I fail to see pink any more (it looks like water with a drop of milk in it) and "clear" like water.

I have no comparison to make but my DPD powder in my TF100 is granular and gray-purple too. The results I get (when not over 5.0) seem comparable with the Ortho test so I assumed it was working fine.

Thanks pooladdict - My SWCG is humming along beautifully, in fact it was working so well that it was my rocketing FC that prompted me to test the salt level. :-D I was concerned that the high salt level would start to rust/corrode small children or more important things like heater coils...

I made a bit of a mathamalogical error in my salt/bags/weight/volume calculation and as opposed to topping my salt levels off at 3500ppm I nuked it to 4400ppm :shock: :oops: I know it will gradually come back down on it's own but what damage am I doing in the mean time? FC 5.5 CC 0 Ph 7.5...

chazas - That's a Dang big pool! :wink: I would not worry about your SWCG producing too much. I have the same problem, if you can call it that. I am now down to running at 20%, 10 hours a day and it keeps my FC in balance with a CYA of 50.

Joyce Thanks for the comments. The pool is now good and my pb even sent me a new pole to replace the one I'd bent when I was needlessly scrubbing the scale that would never have come off! :) My only problem is still the rising pH - how are you getting on with yours? Today's numbers: FC 9 CC...

Well folks it looks like the acid washing worked. When the pool was drained I had so much scale it was obvious that there would have been no other way of getting it off. The results are not 100% but I'm back down to a CH of 140 (needs work I know) and most of the scale is gone. I went from...
