    New frustrating build in Arizona

 Woooooo now that's really scary. I'm not a pool builder, but I'm thinking that common sense alone would tell them that that's not a good idea at all.

    Just another build in Texas

Wow that is going to be a big one. I'm looking forward to watching the progress. I know you all must be so excited, especially the little cutie watching it out the window. I loved the pic with him running through the yard. :)

    New frustrating build in Arizona

The plumbing/electrical in the same trench pics in comment #16 are Not loading, but after seeing all the other problems on the other pics, I can just imagine. Wow Moto. All those problems that you've had, I am so sorry. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they get all the issues...

Adding bleach every other day or less?

Re: Adding bleach for 2 or more days? LOL Go Steve!! With that SpeedStir in now you'll be wanting to check daily levels anyway. Heck you'll be checking the pool, the fish tank, the Koa pond, the fill water, the lake down the road, the neighbor's pools, etc.... You will love that SpeedStir...

Siphoning rain water off the pool

I too buy the cheap covers, as I've found the expensive ones don't last much longer anyway, and they cost a lot more to replace, so cheap it is :). I use clothes pins to tighten up my cover on my AGP. After the cover is on, I go all the way around it pulling it tight, and placing a clothes pin...

Adding bleach every other day or less?

Re: Adding bleach for 2 or more days? +1 to Dave's post above Hi Steve, Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. There are several factors that contribute to the chlorine demand in the pool, plus you can get the initial level too high which also isn't good for your pool, or your...

    Newbie From Perth Western Australia.

Good deal I'm glad to hear you got the pH down to a better starting range though. We encourage the pH adjustment prior to the Slam because once your chlorine level gets above 10ppm the pH test won't read accurately, it will read high, so now that you've finally gotten it down there's no need to...

    OIM

It's already looking beautiful, and you're doing an excellent job. I'm excited to see what the next phase brings. As far as a fountain if you can't get the vote to add one permanently, here's a little add on fountain that hooks to your return that's inexpensive, and has really good reviews...

Newbie with cloudy pool - Test results are here

That's awesome news. :whoot: Also way to stand your ground with the TFP method, and not let a PB be called in. (LOL your hubby will be thinking you are a Pool Pro by the time you get done). :goodjob: But don't tell him how easy it really is, just keep that little secret to yourself. Keep up...

    Copper sulphate based Algacide -

Hi Farsonic, I'm sorry to hear your dealing with black algae, but not to worry because we can help. :) Unfortunately, algaecide won't kill black algae, you'll need to do a Slam http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/125-slam-shock-level-and-maintain-shockingl kill it out. The copper in...

    New frustrating build in Arizona

LOL I'm always confused, but I still wanted to say, Hi Motocaptain, and Welcome to TFP, :wave:We're all really glad you're here. I'm sorry your build is frustrating. Has there been a lot of issues since they started? Feel free to share your story, concerns, or ask any questions you have, and...

    Newbie From Perth Western Australia.

Wow, no chlorine added in there yet, it's really going to start clearing once the chlorine starts being added. Amazing what 24 hours of filtration alone did for it. I would recommend adding a gallon of bleach a day until your test kit arrives, once it arrives then you can check your levels...

    Newbie From Perth Western Australia.

Wow Scott, it's looking much better already. It's blue again. :whoot: That's an awesome transformation in just 24 hours. Just keep dosing with chlorine, filtering, vacuuming as needed, brushing 1-2 times a day- (paying close attention to algae hiding areas i.e.-the light niches, steps...

When you start your SLAM you can shut your Chlorinator off during it, and just do manual liquid chlorine adds because as Tim said, it's not going to be able to supply you with the full amount you need during that time anyway, so you might as well help prolong your cell life by shutting it off...

    New Build In Simi Valley

Wow, the slide looks awesome. I loved the color in the 1st pic, but from the distance the pic was taken it looked like a solid color. Now that I can see the light and dark shades in it, I like it even that much more. Well done!! I too think the stucco will look better painted like the steps...

    Yet another Texas pool build!

I'm so sorry. That's so sad, and very unprofessional on their part. I can't believe they've done it to you, again. I know you have to be way beyond frustrated, and there's no sense in them doing you like that. Perhaps you should start charging them for all the times you've had to sit, and...

    New Build Largo, Florida

In the pics the steps look the same to me, but it could be the angle of the pic. I'm sure seeing it in person makes it easier to see the difference. I hate that they didn't do the swim out the way you asked them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your little four legged fur baby doesn't...

+1 to all Texas Splash's excellent info above. Hi Cal, Congrats on getting your CYA down to a manageable level. You did excellent!!! It may take a little while to get all the algae completely killed out, and the cloudiness resolved, but I promise you if you keep at it, it will work. So hang...

I love the color they painted the slide, and I've always loved those high walls on it too. LOL if you lived somewhere where you have snow and ice you could use it for Bobsledding during the Winter. :)

    Is this algae?

Algaecide is a preventive to try to help prevent algae growth, but most will do little to kill it. Some algaecide contain metals that can cause staining to your pool etc. Chlorine is your best choice because getting enough chlorine on there for long enough it will kill it out.
