I didn't want to replace expensive LEDs every couple of years so I put the old school 500W bulb in. Then I put a Blue lens cover on it. The link is the multipak. I only wanted blue for $14. Lol. If i ever open the light up, I'll put one of the LED multicolor Floodlightbulbs in it...

Pool Pump Recommendation for Saltwater Pool Hayward Sand Filter

Many members have used the 1.5 or 3 HP Calimar. The 3HP upgrade is so cheap at $70 that it'll pay for itself quickly. Don't worry about the power, you dial it down to match what you need and the larger pump needs even lower RPM (saving $$) to move the same amount of water.

Also, give it time. It'll be quick in the grand scheme of things, but you'll see no daily or weekly change, maybe test it every 2 weeks for now. If its holding well, switch to monthly.

Then I'd leave the CH alone and road test how it swings. You can always add some if its dropping, but you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube if its rising.

The 60 is in your profile so please update that. . That made 11ppm per 24 (in perfect conditions). The iC40 makes 7.6 per 24 for you.

What is your fill water CH ? If its high i would leave it be as it will climb on its own, and quickly. If its softened water, you'll probably lose CH from rain and I'd bump it a little high to buy more time before needing it again.

Switch to 10ml and each drop is 25 CH. We don't need it zeroed in. 350 or 325 isn't 975. (y)

You are below min FC for your 60 CYA and have been for some time, and you barely passed the OCLT. It would be wise to insurance slam because no matter how sucky that is, it could suck exponentially worse soon. And anytime you see the FC needs a *right now* boost, like right now, dose...

It's cosmetic. The powder stains the vial so they labeled one to get dirty while the others stay clean. We're a bit extra being 'enthusiasts'. :ROFLMAO: Alcohol usually cleans any staining so its pretty again. My tests have never been off to care about cleaning the vial, but that...

Cya of 30. Every +10 also raises the FC target +4. The water needs to be mixed for 24 hours to trust the CYA at opening. And its probably not 0 so add 20 and see if that registers after mixing before adding another 10.

+1. My PB gave me one when I didn't know nothing about nothing. I didn't use it often but in came so in handy when I did that it was non negotiable when we moved and build another pool. Vac to waste was huge at opening or after storms. Draining a couple inches of rain was equally nice...

Future Way or Pool Pure Filters

I don't trust anything made around 5 years ago further than I can throw it. Everything, and I mean *everything* was rushed out to keep the shelves stocked during the shortages. Many companies proved people would still buy XYZ even with abysmal quality control, and even at jacked up...

Pentair IC60, possibly still available with the new IC plus 60s out. It's the age old debate if the tried and true or being the betta tester with the new bells and whistles are a better decision. Like you didn't have enough to agonize over. Lol. The circupool RJ60+ is also a beast if...

8 Gallons is 36 ppm in 22k Gallons if using 10%. Double check your poolmath. More isn't better here. The SWG gets turned off and you'll replenish to 24 as often as needed, no more than every 2 hours.

Circle back to this when the slam is done so we can spend time on the nitty gritty of it. Tag me or poolstored and ask for the full rundown. For now, click the circle toggle thingie next to the word SLAM. Slam target is 40% of your cya, so 24 FC. There's no time like the present to...

No. Its a couple times more expensive and the goods clump up on the bottom. It's hard to get a proper dose unless you use the whole bottle and can rinse the jug well.

    chlorine going up?

I always blame the AM test for both too little coffee and too much. At the same time. 😁 Just do your best to slow it down. There is no prize for being done in 19 seconds, only a fail. 95% of the time taking a deep breath and slowing it down fixes my pinky result.

Good Morning back !!! A borderline pass with FC below min for your CYA is a one way ticket to SLAMville IMO. @PoolStored wouldn't let that fly in his pool either. C's don't get degrees here. They get swamps. :) At worst, it's was needed. At best, it's over in 1 day when you...

Changed from Cartridge to Media filter - WOW

Jan 2025 IG pool build in Georgia, need liner re set!!!!

IMO this is over hyped. Both of my liners went in on cool days, but the fill water was 55 no mater the weather that week. It was insta shrinkage for the floor and corners and while warm sun beating down up top may have helped it stretch vertically, it did nothing for the length and...
