    TF-Pro Salt

It is not. If it is 0 and the % display on the cell has all the LEDs off then it is OFF. Your variance is within normal testing errors. I say you passed the OCLT and should move on.

Need help selecting parts for Hayward H250FDN heater

I will try and guide you although I have never put hands on a Hayward heater or needed to order parts. If @swamprat69 wanders by he may have advice. It can be madding to figure out the correct parts for old equipment as manufacturers make rolling changes to the same model. And they provide...

    Help with power cord replacement

That cord looks fine as long as your pump pulls less than 12 amps. You don't need to put a GFCI on the end of the cord if it is plugged into a functioning GFCI outlet.

Considering Replacing Damaged Deck with Cantilever Deck

Your ground is moving. You have a slope from the house down past the pool on your property. Nature is taking its course. You have a retaining wall between the house and the deck. The retaining wall is trying to hold back the slope, which is putting pressure on it. That pressure transfers to...

    Sludge

If you have three inches of thick sludge in the bottom of your pool it is time to call in commercial strength cleaners. Pool companies have standalone vacuums like the Riptide that can clean out a pool. Call around and see what your local pool companies can do. https://www.riptidevac.com/

Pool Schedule for Pool + Spa Combo

Running my spa spillover for 20 minutes at a good flow pushes most surface debris into the pool. Whatever is left I can skim out with my pool net in a few mionutes. Every pool is different. Experiment with different RPMs and use the lowest that works well.

What am I doing wrong? Chlorine isn't going up.

Keep on testing and adding chlorine. The algae is consuming it and you replenish it. With CYA 30 your target FC is 12. Test 15 minutes after you add chlorine and confirm you got it up to 12 or more.

New pool owner trying to understand test strip reading

With a SWG your CYA should be around 60. So even if your CYA is 20 you can add 30 PPM. That is why I said to add 30 PPM and then see where it is.

New pool owner trying to understand test strip reading

Don't worry about your TA. Manage your pH to keep it in the 7's and your TA will come donw over time. Have you added any stabilizer into the pool? If not, then add 30 PPM of stabilizer using the sock method, let it dissolve for a few days and retest. 6 lbs of dry stabilizer will give you 30...

    Stuck on 2200 Salinity

Your Blueworks is a Aquarite clone system. The diagnostics are reporting salinity of 2500 on one polarity and 3700 on the other polarity. The 2500 is indicative that your cell is depleted and needs replacement.

Trying to dial things in before the summer

Welcome to TFP. CYA of 90 is a a bit high but ok for TX. It will degrade over time in the Houston sun. So while you may think you have things dialed in, at least monthly, you need to check your CYA level and adjust your FC target.

Help! New pool owner planning equipment pad remodel/replumbing

Adding the 3-way is good. 10" of straight pipe is nice to have but many pumps operate fine with less. I would not go to extremes to make that happen. Good and add a Heater Bypass - Further Reading Understand that can divert up to half your return flow to the cleaner return and significantly...

    Skimmer and Filter basket

I only pull the skimmer basket out with the pump off. The less debris going down the skimmer line and through the impeller, the better. I usually reach into the skimmer basket with the pump on and scoop out debris in there. It is never perfect, but it is good enough as the skimmer basket will...
