Lost Water Pressure. At a loss.

This is what it was. Turns out my old pump basket had rotted and had a crack in it and this piled up over time. I’ve never checked the impeller before so thank you!

This is currently without the cartridges. Have not yet disassembled the pump to inspect the impeller.

Lost Water Pressure. At a loss.

Just did. It’s reading about 10 psi at startup 3400 rpm and 3 psi at normal running speed 1750 rpm.

Lost Water Pressure. At a loss.

Honestly don’t know. My pressure gauge hasn’t worked for quite some time. I want to say it used to be around 5-10psi, but I am totally guessing based on memory.

Lost Water Pressure. At a loss.

Hi all, it’s been a long time since I’ve been here. I’m having an issue with our 7 year old pool that we can’t figure out. Our water flow was pressure has dropped considerably over the last few months. Our spillway barely spills and our suction side vacuum barely moves, even at 3450 RPMs. Spa...

    Polywood chairs on sun shelf?

I do. Just picked up 4 adirondacks. It feels like just a very heavy plastic. I could see concerns with the stainless steel hardware (small bolts) but thought that the chair material might be ok. Maybe prone to some discoloring but thought I might be able to use them on days we are in the pool...

    Polywood chairs on sun shelf?

Is the polywood brand (based from recycled plastic/wood particles) safe to submerge in water, placed on a sun shelf in a salt water pool? I would think so but haven’t seen anything on the interwebs and the company’s Q&A does not address this. Thanks for anyone with experience/knowledge!

    Pool power usage?

Curious, how are you doing this math? Also, if we decide to start using the heat pump to keep the pool heated, how should I estimate that additional power consumption?

    Pool power usage?

Thanks for the response. And you are right, I had the heat pump wrong. It’s a 140k Btu heat pump - Hayward SUM8TA model. And yes it is working for the 3-4 hours as it is heating and maintaining our spa at 102+. As for the lights, it’s on a timer with our automation to add some lighting to our...

    Pool power usage?

Hi all. I hope everyone had as great of a summer as we did with our new pool! The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the money flying out of my pocket for our skyrocketed electrical bill. It’s home from $280-$300 a month to $550 a month, nearly double since installing our pool! Can anyone help me...

    New Build in NE FL

What about just turning that light above the bench off or disconnecting it? It won't make the pool as bright but at least it will get rid of the shadow that is being cast across the pool. We actually did this with our shelf light because it was showing all of the imperfections in the plaster...

Buying a Heat Pump with solar panels

How hot does it get there? If enough to really raise the pool temp in the summer, consider a heat pump with a reverse cooling pump setting. It's like air conditioning for your pool. In hindsight I wish I knew about that. We went with the 140k btu Hayward SUM8TA pump.

    Pentair Intelibrite

Now the question is how hard is this to change and will I need new gaskets?

    Pentair Intelibrite

Disregard! I double checked the manual and found my answer. It's a few pages before talking about wide and narrow angles. See below:

Technically, he isn't touching the pool water in any pic. I'm not sure he's actually been in yet!

    Pentair Intelibrite

The manual is pretty vague. It just says for lights on the end of the pool, use Narrow setting. For lights on the side of the pool, use Wide setting. But not real clear about how to position to accomplish each setting.

Will, check out these floats. They are my favorite and I am a big guy (6'2" 270). They are cheap too. Everyone thinks I am crazy that I like them, but they allow my body to get just enough water. I know you still don't like your cold water, so they may not be for you but for the price you should...

    Pentair Intelibrite

I've noticed since our refinish that our lights were not as bright in our pool as the original build. I thought it was the black stones added to the finish that was cutting the light but when I looked closer at the light lens itself, the "W" on the lens is in the 12 o'clock position. Can anyone...

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

I took a different approach since high pressure was popping the sprinkler heads out of the bubblers. I made my own easily removable fountains from sprinkler pvc. They are 1/2" pipe that fit snugly into the bubbler openings. They can handle full pressure and can shoot nearly across the pool. This...

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

Popped a sprinkler head on it. Need to turn 2 of the 3 bubblers off to get enough pressure (without cuttting off the spa spillway) and it is letting water flow through the bubbler opening itself, but it's a start. I'm going to play around with some plumbers tape and also drill some holes into...

South Florida Pool & Outdoor Living - STARTUP PHASE

South Florida Pool & Outdoor Living - STARTUP PHASE Stupid question - Are these clumps concentrated chlorine/salt from the SWG or something else? I only notice them when the bubblers are on, especially at higher pressure. Randomly we will also still see some plaster rocks.

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

Here's is the best I've got so far. The 1" sprinkler piping fits nearly perfect into our return eyeballs. I've tested it at high pressure without capping it and drilling holes for a fountain spray and it seems to hold up well. I'm going to buy a cap next and see what happens before going any...

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

I wonder if a 1/2" stub to a 1.5" adapter for the fountain will build up enough pressure tho for a fountain to function appropriately?

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

Richard, I'll give this a shot. Half inch sounds about right without measuring. Worst case I can find some knock-ins with a half inch opening. Have you attached a fountain? My only concern is the pressure build up will be too high to keep the pvc in.

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

I have a separate dedicated vac line. While it is threaded it is suction only. I have come across inyopools before, if I can't figured something out I will give them a call. I've seen a ton of posts on this forum when I searched this topic, with no real good answer. If I can't find an answer I...

    Plumbingly Impaired - return conversion

I ordered this fountain knowing that I had "knock in" returns instead of threaded. I figured I'd try to do some PVC experiment but now that I have it, I'm a bit stumped on how best to go about it. Any good ideas on how to modify the fountain or return to work together? Do they sell any...
