Make sure your water level is high enough generally half way up skimmer is enough. Also make sure weir door is not stuck blocking water flow into skimmers.

I have them too. Know as millipedes around here! Our local pest control guy sprays for them every spring which helps for a while. Says they live under concrete.

My Thursday Pools brand FG pool recommendations for CH levels are between 200-400ppm. AND their FC recommendations are the standard boiler plate 1-3 ppm. I’ve learned just to trust TFP and all the experts on here’s recommendations!

I certainly will. I just closed it off because I don’t intend to use heater until weather warms up a bit. I certainly spaced it about freezing temps as it didn’t even occur to me to open diverter valve to let water flow thru it.

So when i get home i will open valve and hope no water shoots out of heater? I totally spaced this last night😳.

What would happen if one closed the diverter valve to keep water from going through the heater when not in use ? Would there be damage to the heater from freezing that one night?

I get mine from my local Rural King for $16.99 a case! I have six cases currently as I go through 1gal per week during the height of summer. CDS brand is 10% chlorine but has served me well.
