How are you testing salt? Get a taylor 1766 is don’t already have one and add salt little at a time to make sure you do t get too high. Usually 24 hours is enough to mix it good and retest. You will love it once up and running, takes a few weeks to get it stable at the desired FC ( aim higher...

If you need a lot of salt for a new setup Homedepot will deliver it for $35 ( or did for me. I ordered 18 bags and drive a Honda civic so worth it. Also walmart will deliver salt if you’re a walmart + member but only get Morton not Clorox.

On the question when I would do it now so any bugs ( hopefully none ) can be worked out and ready for next year. You won’t regret getting one, imagine checking your chlorine on Monday and it’s 7.0 and going out of town for a week and coming back and it’s still 7.0

And the warranty is only good if the company backs it up and I had issues getting my Edge Cell replaced when it died early. What I have learned here is some similar systems had issues with high salt and even if they fixed it when they " make a similar" system I don't let my salt get above 3200...

I have seen worse stains form salt but still concerning. Our Walmart has Morton in the spring so will have to get a few bags to keep around. Those shopping carts don't push very well with 120 pds of salt in them :)

Picture of the pool pad should help. Wondering if you just got a bad piece of hose? Seems that even of the pressure was high the pressure relief valve would protect it. Might take that valve off and see if its stuck closed?

If I remember right it’s a swivel every 7’ but can’t remember how many floats they suggest. I have a float on every piece of hose so also about 7 or 8’ apart. Is strange the hose is leaking, they are pretty tough. Is your connection before or after the filter?

Not to mention having to drive around and find it.

Even if it shortens the life some I finally came to realize it still a lot cheaper then adding liquid Chlorine. Or worse it turns green and then our buying a lot of it :) Plus if you calculate the power draw it cost you around 25 cents a day

I ran a separate 120v outlet off the same leg as my pump since my pump and swg run 24x7. That way if I have some weird power issue they both should turn off. I also have a smart plug so in late fall when I run the pump less I can also control my Swg. It’s not perfect and guess the breaker...

There are a few threads about electrical issues and some of the electrician folks can chime in. I know enough to say until you know it’s not electrical stay out or be extremely careful. First test would be kill all power ( breaker if possible ) to the pool or spa and see if it stops.

Might email Circupool or discount salt and ask. I know the Edge has the same power supply for a 3 different size cells. Hard to say regarding sales, discount salt seems to always run some sort of “ upgrade” sale.

And enjoy vacation and don’t worry about the pool :) worse case is ( unless you’re going to Maui ) is you have a green pool and have to do a SLAM but you have a good plan.

I needed 25 pds of calcuim and it was about the same price on WM as Amazon and shipped about as quick. My prime expires in December and will decide if I keep both or not.
