Without a doubt it’s metals. If you can source pro team metal magic then you need to do a weekly dosing Once you’ve chased those metals back into suspension. Members have also had good results using poly fill in their skimmers to capture some metals. There isn’t a pool out there without trace...

ABOVE GROUND POOLS - Why do service / Maintenance companies refuse to service them

I won’t work on them because I’m too old to crawl around under the decks they build. You need to figure out a “fair” hourly rate. In my business service calls are invoiced out at $75 a trip with a truck charge of $50 on any calls over 50 miles return. Included in those charges is one hour of...

One issue with not running it 24/7 is if it’s off and anyone jumps in you will get crud coming out of your skimmers as the weir flaps up and down.

    Weird sediment, just reopened pool

Again, when pushed with a brush, if it goes poof it’s algae, if if pushes along its sand. FYI if you’re running your pump at high speed, that dead algae can be pushed right through a sand filter.

Radiant pool leaking on outside wall at return jet

Yes you can, first lower the water below the return, you will need to cut the vertical pipe about 2” below the elbow. You will require an above ground/fibreglass return fitting, 1.5” of the following, one slip x mpt coupler, a new elbow, one slip x slip coupler 5” of pvc and some glue and...

    Skimmers not pulling enough

Does each skimmer have a valve, if not the pull being restricted by using your vacuum hose might just pull more water from the unrestricted skimmer. If no valves you can always temporarily block one skimmer with a winter plug.

Installing solar thermal panels in AGP

Standard practice is to have a valve after your filter pressure side that will redirect the water up to your panels, then coming from the panels it would flow back into that same line, check valves get installed to prevent back flow. Then it flows into an existing heater, then into chlorinator...

    Inground pool upgrades - Questions

There are issues with termites yes, so not recommended in areas where they are present. As far as depth, that’s determined by how deep your frost sets. Up east it’s not an issue because we winterize pools. Shifting shouldnt be an issue because it’s normally backfilled with gravel.
