    Need Help Identifying This Drain

You need to get some measurements first but you may be able to use an adapter like this to fit it with another common anti vortex cover if you can’t find an exact fit. https://a.co/d/gEgR4Ga

Am I ready to add Boric Acid?

Looks great 👍🏻 Note that the boric acid will reduce the ph a little - use poolmath effects of adding to get an idea of what to expect. You mentioned powder… granular is preferred over fine powder as the powder just likes to sit on the water and not mix well. I have used it but it’s a pain...

Bioguard Non-CYA Eco Sunscreen and Clarifier

I’m seeing that titanium dioxide is banned in food in the EU over concerns of possible dna damage when ingested. & that the non nano version is preferable to the nano version due to inhalation risks when used in cosmetics/skin care. These may or may not be a concern depending upon how much...

🧐 I am also intrigued…. Usually, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Lets get a chemist on it! @JoyfulNoise

Advice on pump and filter replacement

To be clear - when its time to replace the cell you can just buy the ic40 cell instead (or even ic60 if you’re flush with cash 💰). You don’t need anything else. They all use the same power supply you have and fit in the same space. Direct drop in. Also note that 1 quote is for a 520 cartridge...

    Hayward Saltwater Chlorinator

You can also buy the overpriced solderless “kit” on eBay and pay $30+ for some barrel connectors & snippers along with the $4 thermistor. Another member has used this but no update on the longevity of the repair...

    18 x 33 x 56" Semi-In Ground NJ

We bought 13 yrs ago so our 5 acres is a little under $1200 month. (Started at $900 something but taxes & insurance keep going up) I can’t imagine paying today’s prices with todays interest rates for a similar house 🥴

Advice on pump and filter replacement

I will have to defer to others on the 2 suction pipe requirement for a 3hp pump- i have not heard of this… Let’s also tag @ajw22 … However, your swcg is undersized for your pool volume. Ideally you want a cell rated at least 2x’s the size of your pool’s volume as the rating is based on it...

    Harley's Pool

Count it as 90 and follow the accordingly. I prefer to run a little hot and aim for 10% of my cya for fc. Its easy to remember and gives me wiggle room. A little more is better than not enough!

    Hayward Saltwater Chlorinator

It does look a little cracked and discolored though. Please read through the link that AJW posted above to determine if it needs replacement & how to do so for quite cheap & easy. Its a common thing to go bad multiple times over the generally long life of an aquarite unit.

    Need Help Identifying This Drain

Is this in the bottom of the pool? If so, Is it the sole drain? (Generally most modern pools have two drains to be vgba compliant). If not, can you snap a pic of the other one?

What did you do to your pool today?

Be sure to input that value into poolmath so it adjusts your acid doses properly. It is really not advised to go above 50ppm borates for various reasons- unnecessary expense mainly, along with concerns of pets that regularly drink pool water.

    Horse pool

@Arowdy1 One that holds 250# - 300# of sand (24”-27”) should do ok & be fine with your pump. Much bigger than that and you’re looking at a pretty good jump in price. If you can swing that its great but not detrimental if you cannot. The deal is that the bigger the filter the less often you need...

    Harley's Pool

Mine tend to break my skimmer basket if i let them get too clogged so I keep an eye on it & wash it out as needed. Toss when holey. I usually keep a couple in rotation for quick swaps. I remove them completely when large debris is happening. I have a hydrotools swimline basket - hopefully your...

    Ahh!Some vs Ahhnatural

This is a new variant of ahhsome packaging- it appears this ahh natural place just sells it at a little markup compared to some other retailers. https://ahhsome.com/product/hot-tub-jetted-bath-plumbing-jet-cleaner/ They also sell other brands of products besides their own branded ones. Horse pool

The green thing in the yard is a pop up emitter drain - not sure if it’s connected to the pool. You may have an overflow pipe either in the pool wall or inside of one of the skimmers that leads to this. They sell prefilters (sometimes called cyclones) in most residential pools they are...

    How Long Do Patches Last?

Oh boy, This sounds like it’s all been a real headache 🙁 As for the patch, I would just monitor it. If it starts to peel up or something you can put a larger patch over the top of it. While patches on a brand new liner aren’t ideal sometimes things happen and it’s necessary. There’s no hard and...

    Horse pool

You could vac to waste with a manual vac while simultaneously filling with the hose if you’re pole reaches the bottom. You’d need to go slowly in order to prevent stirring things up too much. Its more of a vacuuming blind situation in the beginning. It will be very difficult to do the without...
