When I get super heavy rains - the water drains from several yards and if my drain pip cover gets clogged - it can run into my pool.

Obviously I need to work on that. (I’ve been here 1 year)

I have a strong pump and a way oversized DE filter that I have faith will clear this up. I started SLAM this morning.

My question is - will chlorine and the DE filter be able to get other contaminants out of the water? Should I consider drain n fill? Obviously I can’t drain it all at once being fiberglass. Or just filter and slam and call it a week?

Definitely drain a few inches at minimum so the water level is where it’s supposed to be. Then do the SLAM.
